My dad Ken Wright authored the Yamhill-Carlton AVA for Oregon and it was granted in 2004 with the first wines allowed for labeling from the 2003 vintage. Ardagh Group developed a custom mold for anyone in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA. There are only a few wineries that are part of the AVA who use the bottle with the Yamhill-Carlton AVA cartoushe, which identifies the wine as one from Yamhill-Carlton. Ken Wright Cellars has 6 vineyard designated Pinot Noirs, which go into the Yamhill-Carlton AVA Mold.
COMMENTS FROM THE JUDGES: "Attractive artwork - less dark than previous ones.""Embossing of Yamhill is cool, as is the story. Tapered labels work with the bottle shape." "Unique label that is recognizable and different, while still feeling upscale."
