McKinney Family Vineyards is looking for a warm, motivated, and creative Part-Time Sales & Social Media Associate to join our small but mighty team.
We are a family-owned, boutique winery rooted in Santa Barbara County, producing handcrafted, limited-production wines with a focus on organic and biodynamic farming practices, thoughtful winemaking, and genuine hospitality. Our guest experience is intimate, educational, and highly personal — from private estate tastings and vineyard tours to sharing the stories behind each wine, vineyard, and vintage.
This role is ideal for someone who loves wine, people, storytelling, and creating content that feels authentic rather than overly polished. You should be comfortable hosting guests, supporting sales, engaging with members, and helping bring the McKinney Family Vineyards brand to life through social media.
Position Overview
This is a hybrid hospitality, sales, and content role. The right candidate will support the guest experience through private tastings, wine club and direct-to-consumer sales, customer communication, and social media content creation.
The position is part-time, with hours varying based on tasting reservations, events, and business needs. Weekend availability is required.
Responsibilities
Sales & Hospitality
* Host private wine tastings and estate experiences with warmth, professionalism, and confidence
* Share the story of McKinney Family Vineyards, our wines, farming practices, vineyards, and winemaking approach
* Support wine sales, wine club growth, and guest follow-up
* Assist with reservation communication, guest confirmations, and customer service as needed
* Help create a polished, welcoming, and memorable guest experience
* Support events, club pickups, and special winery experiences
* Maintain a clean, organized, and guest-ready hospitality environment
Social Media & Content
* Create photo and video content for Instagram, Facebook, and other marketing needs
* Capture authentic behind-the-scenes moments at the estate, winery, vineyard, tastings, and events
* Assist with writing captions, stories, reels, and basic social media scheduling
* Help communicate the McKinney brand in a way that feels elevated, personal, and true to who we are
* Track content opportunities around wine releases, vineyard updates, events, team moments, and seasonal storytelling
* Bring creative ideas to help grow engagement and share the McKinney experience with a wider audience
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is:
* Friendly, personable, and confident speaking with guests
* Passionate about wine, hospitality, and storytelling
* Comfortable with sales and guest engagement
* Creative and familiar with Instagram, reels, stories, and basic content creation
* Organized, reliable, and self-motivated
* Able to work independently and as part of a small team
* Professional, polished, and brand-conscious
* Excited to be part of a boutique winery environment where everyone helps where needed
Requirements
* Must be 21 years of age or older
* Weekend availability required
* Previous hospitality, tasting room, sales, or customer service experience preferred
* Social media/content creation experience
* Strong communication skills
* Ability to lift and carry wine boxes up to 40 lbs
* Reliable transportation
* Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor winery/vineyard settings
Compensation
Part-time hourly position, based on experience, with opportunities for sales incentives and wine education. The right candidate has full time potential.
