Position Summary:
As an Estate Ambassador at Burgess, you will be a key ambassador of our celebrated estate, delivering unparalleled guest experiences that embody our commitment to excellence, transparency, and innovation. Reporting to the Hospitality Manager, you will lead engaging tour and tasting experiences, build lasting relationships with guests, and contribute to the success of our hospitality and sales initiatives. This role requires a passion for wine, superior customer service, and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
Essential Responsibilities:
Hospitality:
• Warmly welcome guests and lead personalized, thoughtful, and profitable tour and tasting experiences.
• Create memorable guest interactions by sharing the Burgess story in a compelling and natural way.
• Maintain an elegant atmosphere while managing multiple guest groups effectively.
• Anticipate guest needs, accommodating special requests and occasions to surpass expectations.
• Collaborate with the events manager to execute after-hours events seamlessly.
• Stock wine, set up and break down for tastings, and assist with daily hospitality activities.
• Support the team with monthly inventory management.
• Sales and Relationship Building:
• Cultivate and strengthen member relationships while establishing new connections.
• Promote wine and non-wine product sales, driving interest in new memberships and exclusive offerings.
• Document precise guest details in our CRM system, including birthdays, anniversaries, and special requests.
• Craft personalized emails and notes to express gratitude to guests post-experience.
• Engage in outreach to mailing lists, concierges, and industry networks to foster client relationships.
Operational Support:
• Open and close the winery, ensuring all procedures are completed accurately.
• Input orders and maintain customer notes promptly and accurately.
• Represent Burgess at external functions as required.
• Attend team meetings and collaborate on tasks to support the overall operation of the estate.
Experience:
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in premium winery tasting rooms, hospitality, or retail sales.
• Background in highly allocated wine or luxury brands is preferred.
Skills and Attributes:
• Superior customer service skills with a focus on hospitality over transactional service.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in CRM systems and MS Office Suite.
• Professional appearance and demeanor with a cheerful and positive attitude.

• Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

Compensation and Benefits:
• Hourly wage: $23.96 - $29.95/hour, based on experience.
