Job Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Barrel Tech 3 to join the Markham Vineyards production team! Reporting to the Cellar Master, this hands on role is responsible for performing the daily tasks in the cellar with a team under the direction of the Cellar Master or Cellar Lead, and is responsible for understanding and following safety protocols and established cellar SOP’s as directed. This role is also responsible carrying out work orders for the processing of wine accurately and safely. This position is based in ST. Helena, CA and is a full-time, non-exempt position, working Monday - Thursday 6am - 4:30pm with flexibility during harvest that includes overtime, Fridays, and weekends, and the incumbent qualifies for our outstanding health care benefits, PTO, 401k plan, wine allowance and more!

Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years previous cellar experience with 2+ years specific to barrel work
- Excellent verbal, written & mathematical skills
- Reliable team player with strong work ethic
- Forklift certification
- Proficient understanding of all winery sanitation practices and winery safety practices
- Proficient understanding of barrel movements and inventory
- Ability to understand, execute instruction, receive and complete work orders
- Desire to learn ultra-premium winemaking principles and objectives
- Strong attention to detail and keeping work areas clean and safe
- Must be able to provide U.S. Work Authorization without current or future sponsorship.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Performs various work assignment with timeliness, safety and accuracy being the goals.
- Follows work order instructions, asks questions before acting
- Performs all types of winery sanitation
- Moves hose and equipment as needed
- Operate pumps
- Moves wine from tanks, barrels, performs topping
- Follows safe cellar protocols while understanding winemaking goals
- Looks for problems with equipment used or any safety issues and reports to Leader
- Can lead team as needed
