Scotto’s is seeking multiple dedicated and friendly individuals with a strong passion for hospitality to join our team at the downtown tasting room. We are looking for driven self-starters who are eager to contribute significantly to the development of our expanding brand and become key team members.
Key responsibilities:
• Warmly welcome guests upon arrival and lead them through wine-tasting experiences, emphasizing education and fostering genuine connections throughout the session.
• Work with the team to ensure all hospitality spaces are stocked, clean, and organized, and complete daily open and closing duties.
• Ability to accurately count and reconcile a cash register.
• While establishing these connections, this individual should also effectively promote, sell, and up-sell wine and wine club memberships to meet and surpass monthly goals.
• Manage multiple tasting groups simultaneously, anticipate their needs, and create a positive, memorable experience for the guests.
• Proficiency or willingness to train in small administrative tasks within a point-of-sale system.
• Perform an independent and accurate inventory check of wine, merchandise, and other items.
• Ability to recognize signs of an intoxicated guest and take swift, appropriate action to address the situation.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a professional, friendly, and engaging demeanor.
• Ability to assemble small bite items for guests and adhere to food safety guidelines.
• Be a positive and friendly team player, capable of taking on different roles to support the team as needed, and willing to handle extra tasks upon request.
Requirements
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to lift and carry weights of up to 40 lbs (e.g., a case of wine) multiple times a day.
• Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, standing, and twisting in a retail winery tasting room environment.
• You must possess a valid food handlers card or be able to acquire one.
• Past wine, restaurant, sales, and other hospitality experiences are a plus, but we are willing to train.
• Must be detail-oriented, driven to grow and excel, and maintain a professional demeanor and appearance.
• Must be friendly, engaging, passionate about wine, and willing to work with a team of like-minded individuals.
• Available 1-3 days a week, with the ability to work weekends, special events, and some evenings and holidays.
