Job Description:

Position Summary
The Assistant Tasting Room Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Tasting Room, while working collaboratively with the other managers at the winery to ensure delivery of a seamless customer experience as well as optimal management of the business in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

-In collaboration with the Estate Manager, achieves service, sales, club acquisition, and profitability goals; plans properly and motivates staff to achieve these goals.
-In collaboration with Estate Manager, hires, trains, schedules & supervises staff. Direct reports responsibility as assigned.
-Demonstrates leadership and personal support to tasting room staff. Helps coach, guide and develop tasting room staff into a strong sales and service focused team.
-Works with team to deliver a customer experience that provides beyond-expectation customer service, tells our winery story, and creates winery fans.
-Ability to conduct tasting room experiences & assist in management and execution of events.
-In collaboration with Estate Manager leads, manages floor operations & activities to achieve business goals. This includes but is not limited to maintaining indoor & outdoor housekeeping standards for front & back of house areas, conducting opening/closing procedures, cash handling, overseeing tasting menu/programs, maintaining inventory ordering & control, responding to customer requests and needs, and ensuring team operates according to Crimson standards and values.
-Manages back-office responsibilities: inventory ordering/control, collateral, inhouse shipping activities, sales reporting, time & attendance and performance goal management.
-Submits all reports to accounting and senior management as required, including daily sales, monthly inventory, deposit logs, and monthly performance analysis.
-Maintains and troubleshoots POS register and other systems as needed, while working with the IT department.
-Works collaboratively and effectively with onsite and centralized teams.
-Carries out all responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies as well as applicable laws.

Qualifications
-College degree in business/retail management, hospitality or wine marketing, or equivalent work experience strongly preferred.
-Two to five years of prior relevant retail tasting room or consumer direct sales experience required.
-Supervisory experience required: demonstrable experience in recruitment, training, coaching and leading in day-to-day operations.
-Ability to work and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, while maintaining a high level of detail and remaining calm and service focused is required.
-Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills demonstrated by the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
-Exceptional people and sales skills. Strong rapport-building with both customers and the community.
-Excellence in creating and providing guest experiences in keeping with winery’s core values and brand image. Understand how to sell and enhance a luxury brand.
-Demonstrated ability to achieve sales goals, and effectively train, manage, and motivate teams.
-Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook at an intermediate level is required. Excel skills to include monthly sales summaries and budgets.
-Functional understanding of CRM and POS systems and knowledge of wine, wine production and the wine industry.
-Schedule flexibility to include evenings and weekends.
-Able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
