Are you an experienced MES Engineer looking to drive impactful changes within a dynamic organization? We are seeking a Senior Engineer with expertise in Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) to join our innovative team. In this role, you will take on a variety of assignments that enhance our company's competitiveness by improving throughput, reducing operational costs, and implementing new assets or products to meet defined success criteria.
As an MES Engineer, you will lead or participate in the development of ideas and concepts, as well as in cross-functional planning sessions and organizational updates. You will recommend technology improvements or modifications through comprehensive systems analysis and update standards, policies, specifications, and procedures as necessary. Your responsibilities will include creating project proposals that outline business benefits, time frames, funding requirements, and staffing needs, and conducting experiments to demonstrate feasibility.
You will lead research and analytical studies to develop designs or specifications for MES implementations, test new technologies or concepts to validate their benefits, and review proposals from outside vendors to make informed recommendations. Your role will involve analyzing technical and cost data to determine feasibility and making recommendations based on test results for potential MES applications.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, and SQL is essential for developing and customizing MES applications. Familiarity with MES platforms like Ignition is also crucial. Skills in integrating MES with other enterprise systems like ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), and PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) are important for seamless data flow and process automation. Knowledge of industrial automation and control systems helps in designing and implementing automated manufacturing processes.
Strong problem-solving skills are necessary for troubleshooting MES-related issues and ensuring minimal downtime. Effective communication skills are required to train plant personnel and collaborate with different departments, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
You will lead or support cross-functional teams in building or improving MES solutions or commercializing new products, coordinating project activities to ensure progress on schedule and within budget. You will drive project activities to achieve goals, utilizing Lean Six Sigma principles to identify and solve technical problems, and implementing Lean principles such as the PDCA cycle, standard work, and Kaizen to drive continuous improvement.
Your responsibilities will include managing cross-functional teams, functioning as a liaison with customers and other departments to ensure functional specifications are met, and communicating project status while developing plans to eliminate roadblocks. Ensuring compliance with quality, environmental, safety, and regulatory considerations is crucial, as is maintaining satisfactory attendance. What You Need
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering plus 5 years of Engineering, Project Engineering, Project Management, Commercial or Industrial Architecture, Commercial or Industrial Construction Management experience, reflecting increasing levels of responsibility, which may include Gallo TMDP or OMDP experience; OR, Bachelors degree in STEM major plus 7 years of Engineering, Project Engineering, Project Management, Commercial or Industrial Architecture, Commercial or Industrial Construction Management experience, reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR, Master's Degree in Engineering plus 3 years of Engineering, Project Engineering, Project Management, Commercial or Industrial Architecture, Commercial or Industrial Construction Management experience, reflecting increasing levels of responsibility, which may include Gallo TMDP or OMDP experience; OR, Master's Degree in a STEM major or project management plus an undergraduate degree in Engineering, plus 4 years of Engineering, Project Engineering, Project Management, Commercial or Industrial Architecture, Commercial or Industrial Construction Management experience, reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR, Master's Degree in a STEM major or project management plus an undergraduate degree in a STEM major or Project Management, plus 6 years of Engineering, Project Engineering, Project Management, Commercial or Industrial Architecture, Commercial or Industrial Construction Management experience, reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR, PhD of Engineering and 1 year of Engineering experience; OR, High School Diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 9 years of Engineering, Project Engineering, Project Management, Commercial or Industrial Construction Management experience, reflecting increasing levels of experience.
• Understands Basic Engineering and can follow standard work to achieve goals.
• May be required to travel at least 25% of the time, domestically, for project meetings at site or vendor offices, construction oversight, start-up management, clear communication with site, project continuity and effective project leadership.
