The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for achieving sales goals in the assigned geographic territory- Southern California with potential expansion into Arizona based on experience and performance. This position ensures that distributors and accounts understand the strengths of Bernardus and have the tools they need to deliver the message and increase wine sales. The Regional Sales Manager works with distributors and their sales representatives to implement programs and strategies to meet sales goals and works independently in the field with trade to secure placements. This is a remote position that requires working from home.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Exhibit the highest levels of respect, integrity, sincerity, and professionalism in dealing with others.
• Attain sales, distribution and profitability goals for the assigned area.
• Genuine and persuasive presence to influence decision-makers
• Develop relationships and increase market demand and acceptance through targeting and opening of new accounts, increasing sales to existing accounts, and development of account bases and working on top accounts in each market.
• Recommend and implement decisions based on results of analysis that enhance the equity of the brand. Recommend sales tactics and strategies.
• Educate salespeople and key accounts as to the unique characteristics of Bernardus wines, our vineyards, people, production methods, sustainability initiatives, appellations, and how they fit into our competitive set.
• Conduct seminars, tastings, and winemaker dinners
• Produce timely sales activity and expense reports
Core Activities: Field work/Trade 65% of time: Account participation/presentations (maintaining existing business + visiting 20+ new accounts per week), Key Events (wine dinner, trade tasting), Winemaker/Owner participation. Distributor Management 25% of time: Work-withs, Regional meetings, Planning/Organizing. Administration 10% of time: Pre-Planning, Marketing meetings, T&E

Minimum requirements:
• BA in Business or related field
• 3-5 years of combined sales experience from wine wholesaler and or wine supplier in selling wines and building brands
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
• Preference that candidate resides in coastal Orange County/Los Angeles
• PC literate with solid knowledge in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and knowledge of Syndicated Data
• Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and vehicle required with an acceptable driving record
