Position Overview: We are seeking a positive, hard-working wine tasting room sales associate to join our small, family-owned business. This is a part-time position that requires weekend availability and focuses on guiding guests through wine tastings, educating them about our wines and winery, and encouraging wine sales and club sign-ups.

Key Responsibilities:

Guest Experience: Greet all visitors warmly, offering them a world-class wine tasting experience that educates and delights.

Wine Education: Inform guests about the specific characteristics, production methods, and history of each wine.

Sales: Promote and sell wines, wine club memberships, and winery merchandise, meeting or exceeding sales targets.

Wine Presentation: Properly open, serve, and discuss wines with guests. Ensure the tasting room, glassware, and presentation tools are clean and well-presented.

Tasting Room Maintenance: Keep the tasting room tidy and well-stocked. This includes cleaning and setting up/breaking down the tasting areas.

Team Collaboration: Work effectively with the entire winery team, ensuring smooth daily operations and consistent guest experiences.

Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the winery's current offerings, events, and promotions, as well as general industry trends.

Qualifications:

Previous wine tasting room and sales experience strongly recommended.
Passion for and knowledge of wines, with a willingness to continuously learn.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs (e.g., cases of wine).
Must be of legal age to serve alcohol.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with POS systems.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Must be able to work weekends.
Benefits:

Base hourly wage $17.00-$18.00, depending on experience, plus sales commission and tips. On average, we see most tasting room associates make between $30-45/hr. once tips and sales commission are factored in. That number can be even higher with great sales and service.
