A Laboratory Technician I job in Paterson, Washington is available at Ste. Michelle Wine Estates (SMWE). In this role you will perform analytical procedures and provide reliable analytical data on grapes, juice, and wine in accordance with company goals, and to optimize quality. There are two job openings for this posting. The jobs are full time and have the following schedule: 1) Mon - Thur from 6:00am - 4:30pm or Tues - Fri from 8:00am - 6:30pm. Both jobs work 10 hour shifts for 4 days a week.

Laboratory Technician I job responsibilities include:
• Perform all analysis associated with production from crush through bottling.
• Prepare analytical solutions and calibrate equipment.
• Perform routine analysis on grapes, juice and wine.
• Maintain quality assurance logs and records.
• Perform monthly quality checks on bulk wine.
• Maintain wine lab, tasting lab and equipment cleanliness.
• Pull samples of bulk wine in barrel room and cellar.
• Provide analytical and statistical data to enological staff.
• Maintain and follow guidelines of laboratory procedures, quality assurance and safety aspects within the laboratory facility.
• Maintain laboratory safety procedures.
Position Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, or related field is preferred
• 1+ year experience in a laboratory setting is preferred
• General knowledge of microbiology and general wet chemistry
• Highly organized, ability to prioritize tasks and works well with others in a close proximity on your own.
• Excellent math/ computation skills; accuracy in computations and recordkeeping a must.
• Ability to work increased hours and/or shift work during peak seasons as the need exists.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation, and to push and pull arm movement.
• Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time,
• History of responsible use of alcohol and other appropriate conduct, as well as fitness to be licensed, permitted, and/or certified by state and/or local regulatory bodies.
Your Compensation:
$17.07/hr to $21.21/hr based upon relevant experience.
