Job Description:

CrossKeys Vineyards is one of the premiere wineries in the cooler Shenandoah Valley AVA in Virginia and we're hiring a harvest intern to work directly with the winemaker for the 2023 harvest season. The position is expected to start mid-August and run through until November and there will be the possibility of longer term employment if all goes well. CrossKeys is located near Harrisonburg VA.

While most work will be in our new winery there will be plenty of exposure to our 30 acre estate vineyard and the fruit that we harvest from it. You'll be involved in the winemaking process for a range of wine styles using both modern and traditional winemaking methods. Work will require you to be physically fit and be flexible with hours throughout the season in which there are sure to be some long days.

Duties will include:

- fruit sampling
- grape reception
- pressing and destemming
- pumpovers and punchdowns
- fermentation monitoring
- barrel work
- cleaning
