We are currently seeking highly qualified candidates for a Viticulture Field Scout Internship to join our team at 14 Hands Winery in Prosser, Washington. This person will have learning opportunities and practical training through hands-on participation related to Viticulture, which promotes processional development with a commitment to pursue excellence.

Duration of Internship: (April 2023 - September 2023) (flexible in accordance with University course schedule and dependent on nature/harvest).

In this internship, you will:

•  Collect field data such as:

•  bud and cluster counts
•  shoot elongation measurements
•  pest and disease monitoring, and
•  crop quality sampling and evaluations.

This position will strive to match your education, experiences, and professional goals with applicable company programs. Responsibilities may include work in one or more of the following areas:

•  Viticulture and/or
•  Enology

Working Environment:

•  Primarily working outdoors at various times during the day, you will be exposed to with various levels of temperature.
•  At times, will work in a corporate office environment, extended hours at computer workstation
•  Will work with each team member for a specific duration to ensure full access to the day to day operations of the team and to help highlight the different job functions
•  Access to team meetings on a weekly basis
•  You may drive a company vehicle (Pick-up Truck) with trailer attached to vineyard locations and use an ATV in the vineyards.
•  Must be able to operate an ATV on rough terrain for long hours.
•  Must be able to work extended hours outdoors in inclement weather.

We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications:

•  High School diploma is required.
•  Minimum age requirement: 18 years old.
•  Previous experience in an agricultural related field desired; experience in viticulture environment preferred.
•  Experience with iPads is helpful.
•  Must have a valid driver's license and must clear background check.
•  Ability to lift approximately 50lbs with or without reasonable accommodation
•  Experience with an ATV is helpful.
•  Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English is required. Proficient writing and communication skills a must.
•  Good time management and organizational skills, good attention to detail and the ability to work independently is required.
•  Ability to carry out direction both verbally and/or in written form
•  Ability to work autonomously
•  History of responsible use of alcohol and other appropriate conduct, as well as fitness to be licensed, permitted, and/or certified by state and/or local regulatory bodies.
