The Ranch Winery

Responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of the Premium Business Unit (PBU) and Regional environmental, health and safety (EHS) programs necessary to ensure the organization is in compliance with all federal, state and local laws, regulations and standards at assigned region. Ensures EHS training records, lab analysis records and regulatory documents are accurately maintained. Works directly with operational and vineyard (GVI) managers, team leaders, and team members of all departments. Lead continuous improvement projects

What You Will Do:

•  Identifies environmental and industrial hygiene needs under the supervision of the PBU EHS Manager and Corporate Industrial Hygienist.
•  Maintains OSHA record-keeping requirements for injuries and illnesses; supports investigations of onsite injuries, illnesses and incidents; publishes and communicate the outcomes of investigations investigation reports to leadership.
•  Facilitates root cause analysis, post EHS incidents, monitors status and ensures corrective actions plans are followed through to completion, including significant environmental, health and safety related incidents; communicates the outcomes of investigations to leadership.
•  Researches and analyzes trends and best practices and incorporates into current processes and learning objectives to enhance EHS programs.
•  Maintains records and prepares statistical reports to evaluate effectiveness of EHS programs, including cost/benefit analyses; monitors trainee progress.
•  Lead the PBU and Regional EHS partners in the closure of identified gaps in EHS programs and procedures.
•  Drives equity in programs across all regions.
•  Identifies PBU EHS program and system gaps, works cross functionally/regionally to close identified gaps by enlisting partners from across the PBU.
•  Monitors all EHS programs that have reporting requirements.
•  Complete service level agreements with partners.
•  Raises EHS program concerns to Corporate EHS and works with them to develop solution that meet PBU needs.
•  Leads EHS Partners in resolving general EHS issues that arise.
•  Leads, facilitates, and conducts internal audits and assessments at the request of the business.
•  Performs site inspections of contractor construction activities and coordinates with Company project manager for correction of any noted discrepancies.
•  Drive cross regional execution of assigned EHS projects and objectives.
•  Meets cross regionally with Site Managers and Team Leads to drive the execution of assigned EHS project and objectives.
•  Develops and educates Team and Ranch Leads knowledge in environmental, health and safety regulatory requirements for integration into their job duties.
•  Develops and facilitates programs and procedures necessary to obtain or maintain third party certifications (ISO, VPP, PSM, PWAV Initiatives, other).
•  Leads and represents the PBU in the handling and closure of site external regulatory issues (i.e. county inspectors find a water issue, ammonia program compliance issues, elevated SWPPP status).
•  Responsible for preparing and completing permit applications.
•  Responsible for identifying, leading and partnering with the business on site implementation of strategic programs.
•  Serves as direct partner with Corporate Environmental Affairs and Corporate Safety and Health Services, Corporate Medical Services and internal and external Legal Counsel for functional aspects requiring coordination with all departments.
•  Regionally participates in or leads department and interdepartmental planning and management teams and works cross-functionally to improve environmental, health and safety processes.
•  Supports investigation and record-keeping of all occupational injuries/illnesses.Collects, evaluates, and disseminates pertinent information relating to environmental, health and safety management and maintains appropriate reference files.

What You Will Need:

•  Bachelor's degree in an Environmental Health and Safety (Accredited College) or OHST ASP Certification; or a Bachelor's degree (Accredited College) with 3 years of Environmental Health and Safety experience or 3 years of manufacturing/operations experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; or 5 years of Environmental Health and Safety experience.
•  Experience actively taking part in executing health and safety initiatives.
•  Required to travel to multiple winery and vineyard sites as required.
•  Candidates for this position must have a valid driver's license and a safe driving record. Required to obtain a California driver's license or appropriate state driver's license within 30 days of hire.
•  Required to work evenings, weekends and holidays as scheduled.

What Will Set You Apart:

•  Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Technology, Environmental Science, Engineering, Biology or Chemistry plus 5 years of environmental health and safety experience for a manufacturing facility reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
•  Completion of OSHA #501 course.
•  Possess a "Certified Safety Professional" (CSP) or other occupational health/safety certification.
