POSITION SUMMARY: Perform and coordinate detail-oriented accounting duties related to the efficient and accurate maintenance and processing of accounting transactions. The Senior Accountant prepares financial analysis, performs account reconciliations, maintains fixed asset accounts and supervises invoice processing. Position requires an experienced candidate who can assist management by performing research projects and provide genuine support to staff in accounting department.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
•  Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating and entering transactions during monthly and quarterly close processes.
•  Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information and resolving discrepancies.
•  Assists accounts payable specialist during weekly invoice processing by reviewing account, cost center and department coding.
•  Manages property, plant and equipment including tracking capital projects from approval/inception, construction in progress, capitalization of assets, establishing depreciation rules and disposing of assets due to sale/obsolesce.
•  Reconciles barrel purchases between general ledger and bulk inventory software.
•  Allocates barrel discounts and records quarterly entry.
•  Completes production job costing including allocating costs to inventory, calculating overhead and labor rates and closing production jobs.
•  Obtains new vendor documentation and sets up vendor card in accounting software.
•  Coordinates and manages company expense reimbursement process utilizing Concur.
•  Provides monthly budget reports to sales and marketing.
•  Updates bulk inventory software for new grape contracts.
•  Process and post monthly lab write-offs.
•  Prepares monthly spreadsheets for recording tasting room activity.
•  Performs Ad hoc special projects as requested by management.
•  Provides ERP support for other departments.
•  Protects organization’s values by keeping information confidential.

QUALIFICATIONS:
•  Bachelor’s degree in accounting
•  CPA preferred
•  3+ years of experience in accounting
•  Strong understanding of federal, state and local tax regulations
•  Experience with Microsoft Dynamics or other Accounting ERP software a plus
•  Solid computer skills, particularly Excel
•  Strong analytical, mathematical, communication, and interpersonal skills
•  Highly organized, detail oriented, flexible and able to deal with frequent and changing priorities
•  Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and consistently meet all deadlines
•  Curious and continuously learn to grow capabilities
•  Innovative and have the courage to pursue new insights
•  Make an impact by being ambitious and take action

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
•  Must be able to sit, work on a computer, and use office equipment for up to 8 hours/day
•  Must be able to stand, bend and lift 40 pounds occasionally
