Job Description:

Mumm Napa & Kenwood Vineyards are seeking to hire a Project Engineer Consultant for a 12-month contract with the possibility of extension should the project load demand it. This position would have a flexible work schedule depending on project requirements, working remote and in the office when needed. This position would oversee the planning, implementation, and completion the following projects:
Key Projects
•  Cellar Expansion – Purchase and installation of ~150k gallons of fermentation tanks, infrastructure to tanks, construction of concrete tank pad, and building ventilation/exhaust
•  Retail Space Expansion – Remodel of existing restrooms and employee common areas, and new construction of ~850 sq. ft. of additional employee common areas and meeting space
•  Roof Replacement – Installation of new roofing on multiple winery buildings
•  PWW Pond Liner Upgrade – Installation of synthetic liners to winery wastewater ponds
•  Keyless Entry System – Purchase and installation of keyless entry system to 10 winery buildings
•  HVAC Upgrade – Purchase and installation of new HVAC units for winery office spaces
•  Bottling Equipment Upgrades – Purchase and installation of 3 different pieces of sparkling wine bottling equipment ($1M in total)

Position Summary:
Responsible for all aspects of project engineering from feasibility through start-up for winery facilities, equipment, and processes. Oversees the coordination of project management activities including administration, training, performance tracking, and maintaining winery engineering records, drawings and files. Ensures budgetary, regulatory, and internal guideline compliance for all winery projects. This position requires good organizational, computer, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Project Planning
•  In collaboration with the key stakeholders, facilitate the formation of annual and 5-year capital development plana
•  As a service provider, actively engage with internal customers to understand their desired vision, execution, and completion for projects
•  Effectively scope projects which include objectives, methodology, risk analysis, timelines, cost estimation and cash flow phasing
•  Create Request for Quote (RFQ) documentation for quote requests and tendering efforts
•  Lead tenders and negotiations to effectively control costs within projects
•  Liaise with PRW Legal on the development and negotiation of formal agreements for capital projects
•  Actively seek to improve processes, efficiencies, the environmental footprint, wine quality, and the safety and wellbeing of staff with all projects
•  Apply tools to assess risk and change management implications for every project, and integrate into project scopes as required
•  Ensure all projects are based on Lean Manufacturing Principles, PR Best Practices, and ergonomic optimization as applicable
•  Collaborate with internal stakeholders to initiate charters and facilitate the approval process for capital projects

Project Implementation
•  Effectively implement capital, maintenance, and repair projects in form and on time, supported by qualitative feedback from key stakeholders
•  Proactively ensure contractors are effectively inducted and adhere to internal and external compliance requirements
•  Day-to-day project management at both PRW USA winery sites, including supervising and monitoring of contractors and the work of any subcontractors in compliance with PRW USA’s Contractor Management Program
•  Purchase materials and assets in accordance with PRWUSA’s procurement policies and procedures
•  Effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders throughout during project implementation to ensure they are aware and informed of relevant progress
•  Regularly update project timelines, budgets and cashflow forecasts as required. Proactively inform the wider business when project variables are diverging from the plan and find ways to effectively rectify the problem
•  Ensure compliance of all PRW USA projects with local construction codes and regulations
•  Develop capital project documentation including new equipment forms, procedures, commissioning/decommissioning forms, contractor orientation forms
•  Ensure change resulting from capital development projects is effectively managed to optimize engagement from process owners and key stakeholders.

Post Project Implementation
•  Ensure relevant documentation (including drawings, procedures, files, financials, compliance documents, records) are updated and completed prior to project completion sign-off.
•  Complete any change management actions, seek feedback from key stakeholders and action any outstanding items prior to project completion sign-off
•  Ensure that project variables are Acceptance Tested and approved by the customers and process owners of each project

Skills / Qualifications / Experience:

•  Bachelor's degree in Engineering (BSME, BSChE, etc.)
•  Two years of project management experience
•  Project planning, coordination with contractors, maintenance, and other departments
•  Knowledge of industrial equipment such as conveyors, pumps, filtration systems, cleaners, fillers, cappers, labelers, packers, material handling systems, etc.
•  Proven experience in managing vendors and contractors
•  Strong understanding of continuous improvement and risk management principles
•  Proven ability to creatively solve problems coupled with highly effective planning, organizing and analytical abilities
•  Strong communication and presentation skills
•  Ability to read, interpret, and apply information from files, drawings, catalogues, reports and manuals
•  Proficient in the use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint
•  Ability to work in a high paced environment, perform multiple tasks, and make decisions
•  Proven ability to collaborate with people and resources remotely/across a region
