If you are interested in a hands-on, continuous improvement oriented, fast-paced role in a world class manufacturing environment then our Utilities Area Manager role is for you. In this role you will lead the powerhouse process work group made up of Utilities Operators and Maintenance Technicians. Responsible for overall coordination of process area operation and maintenance (3 steam boilers, high voltage maintenance, refrigeration, air compressors, CO2 system, waste water treatment). Attending department meetings, creating and executing action plans to meet critical metrics, troubleshooting operational concerns on the fly, developing relationships with technicians, influencing change, and growing technically and as a leader are all elements of this great opportunity. Additionally, you can expect to:

Track and report on Energy and Fluids usage and cost performance and initiate processes to control costs
Utilize standard management tools (VPO) to achieve critical metric targets close gaps in performance (root cause analysis, SIC, MCRS, 5 Why’s, PDCA and SCDA cycles, etc.)
Analyze Energy and Fluid critical metric/PI data and coordinate with department owners to identify usage trends and to develop performance improvement initiatives
Champion Energy and Fluids good operating practices
Utilities Process Analysis (UPA) Coordinator
Provides process technical expertise to utility operators, technicians, project engineers, project teams and customers
Assist with project conceptualization and scoping (ETI, Initiatives, etc.)
Manage all regulatory aspects such as Title 5 (air emissions) and PSM for powerhouse operations

Qualifications - External

BS degree in Engineering or related sciences
Experience in Utilities preferred
Strong leadership skills and team orientation; ability to lead a team and influence change
Excellent interpersonal skills and technical problem-solving skills
Highly focused on results and providing a structured, systematic approach to delivering solutions
Detail oriented, schedule driven and strong planning skills needed for handling multiple projects
Ability to extract, evaluate and utilize data for process improvement from applicable systems
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
Mechanically or electrically inclined to understand the utilities process
Belt methodology and/or lean methods experience a plus
