Job Description:

In 2003, Martin Ray Vineyards & Winery made its home in the Russian River Valley, at one of the oldest continually working wineries in California. Today, the Martin Ray winemaking team devotes themselves to Martin Ray’s ideology of making “wines of place”. We crush approximately 3,500 tons with our small dynamic team, showcasing our diverse array of wines through three labels: Martin Ray, Angeline and Courtney Benham.

The Facilities Maintenance Leader provides hands-on maintenance and repair services to all areas of winery operations including equipment, infrastructure and buildings. Performs routine and preventative maintenance of all winery equipment under moderate supervision. Leads and coordinates projects with the facilities team and works directly with other winery departments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of winery properties, vehicles and production equipment

Performs general mechanical work associated with various facilities projects such as welding, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, refrigeration, and HVAC
Coordinates third party support from outside vendors

Performs preventive maintenance on equipment and mechanical systems. May perform non-certified welding, wiring and simple machining operations incidental to repair assignments

Maintains equipment, equipment manuals & warranties, and maintenance records

Responsible for maintaining and managing production equipment spare parts inventory

Maintains mechanical equipment and systems requiring the isolation of malfunction, disassembly of equipment, repair/replacement of parts and structural components

Responsible for troubleshooting, changeovers, and adjustments of production equipment

Uses a wide variety of hand, power, and machine tools to complete projects & perform repairs

Monitors and maintains winery site domestic water distribution, and sanitary & process wastewater treatment systems

Completes periodic inspections & manages associated records in compliance with regulatory requirements

Assists with general carpentry, plumbing, and upkeep of winery buildings as needed

Follows general housekeeping procedures & protocols to ensure a clean and orderly work environment

Troubleshoot machinery as needed when production lines are running and during line start-ups

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned


SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 5 years general maintenance experience

Requires a well-rounded knowledge of the practices, tools, equipment and materials used within the mechanics trade
Knowledge of bottling operations

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and assembly drawings

Experience with electrical, plumbing, pneumatics, carpentry, fabrication, and welding

Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft office programs

Demonstrated ability to work with little supervision

Knowledge of wastewater systems preferred


REQUIREMENTS:

Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record required

Ability to work outside of normal working hours during harvest and other busy periods as needed

Ability to conduct work at heights, climb ladders, walk up and down stairs, walk on uneven surfaces, and work in confined spaces, work outdoors during hot and/or
wet weather

Ability to lift and carry equipment that weighs up to 60 pounds

Ability to become Forklift certified

Must have an excellent safety and work performance record

Ability to prioritize while able to adapt to changing priorities

Demonstrated reliability and punctuality, work effectively in team/crew environment, adherence to all safety regulations and operating procedures


DESIRABLE:

Bi-Lingual (Spanish/English)

Experience running/maintaining a minimum 60bpm bottling line

Experience with domestic water distribution, and process wastewater treatment systems

Knowledge of basic operations in refrigeration & HVAC systems
