ESSENTIAL PURPOSE: The Event Sales Manager is responsible for developing and implementing an aggressive sales plan to increase event revenue with the intent to market and sell wine; sets expectations for events to be executed to the highest standards; develops a winery presence in the regional hospitality market through outreach; works cohesively with members of both the hospitality team and the management team to implement internal improvement and strategic plans.
Implement and execute annual sales goals.
The Event Sales Manager is responsible for selling events at both CADE Estate and Odette Estate.
Focused sales efforts on booking Odette Estate
Primary sales efforts are focused on site fee and wine sales.
Prepare event P & L’s prior to event and post event.
Outreach and Networking:
Actively participate in professional development groups, such as WCSEP, BANG, and ILEA Napa-Sonoma
Develop referral relationships with neighboring wineries, brand competitors and hotels
DMC outreach, building new relationships and fostering existing relationships.
Hosting site visits for potential clients
Manage website content specific to events
Provide social media content to winery Marketing Manager
Provide verbiage for all emails, invitations, thank you cards, brochures, and collateral
Work closely with Marketing Manager to deliver an event marketing plan
Contract negotiation with clients
Provide clients estimates in a timely manner
Facilitate communication before, during, and post event with Winemaking and Tasting Room Management
Address and appraise performance, identify development opportunities and acts as a coach/mentor when required
Lead Event Coordinator to meet or exceed sales goals based on annual budget
Take an active role with the Tasting Room staff across three wineries to build employee unity, being a positive example for customer experience
Other Essential duties:
Manage and Execute all marketing events
Manage outside contractors and vendors
Adjust cleaners, gardeners, and window cleaners schedules based on event schedule.
Obtain the proper documentation from vendors such as resale certificates, insurance, permits, and/or licenses.
Onsite liaison for new vendors.
