Provide engaging, gracious, sincere, educational, positive and memorable experiences to all guests that visit Benessere Vineyards. The person in this position is energetic, positive, detail oriented, has a passion for wine and thoroughly enjoys engaging with people via tastings, on guided tours and through events to promote wine sales and the Wine Club membership to guests with varying levels of wine knowledge.

The Tasting Room & Events Manager is expected to “lead by example” to provide guidance and direction to the Tasting Room Associates; making sure all duties are completed prior to opening and before clocking out at the end of the day, making sure all associates take breaks as appropriate, completing an accurate inventory of all tasting room wines, filling out sales & inventory reports, assisting with social media efforts and spearheading the winery outreach program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

TASTING ROOM MANAGER
* Strong leadership with excellent communication
* Development, implementation and execution of all guest experiences including a comprehensive wine and food program
* Oversee the hospitality team, ensuring the standards for professionalism and customer service and company policies and procedures are followed by all staff members
* Coordinate and implement business outreach efforts to develop relationships with neighboring wineries, concierges, and tour operators / drivers
* Actively participate in industry related organizations
* Work in the tasting room on a daily basis. Have the ability and confidence to lead groups on a vineyard and cellar tour with an educational focus
* Management of our online reservation system, TOCK
* Collaborate with the Hospitality Manager on the hiring, management and training of the tasting room staff
* Open and close the tasting room, following winery protocols
* Process end-of-day reports
* Make sure an accurate inventory is taken at the beginning and end of each day
* Accurately count cash register and make cash deposits with end-of-day paperwork
* Open, taste, smell and pour wines to ensure quality
* Accurately handle sales transactions using our POS system
* Work with and delegate beginning and end-of-day duties with the tasting room staff:
•  Make sure all wine, merchandise, brochures and sales collateral handouts are fully stocked
•  Clean and tidy up the tasting room (wipe down counters, empty garbage, check bathrooms, straighten photos, etc.)
•  Organize patio at the end of the day (buss all glassware, pick up garbage, straighten chairs, tables cleaned, etc.)
•  Break down empty cardboard boxes and along with empty bottles, take to recycling
•  Wash, buff and restock wine glasses making sure the tasting room is stocked
•  Clean off the patio prior to opening using either the blower or a broom
* Maintain company standards of sales and service in tasting room according to the company handbook
* Provide and ensure Responsible Beverage Service
* Communicate professionally with all customers via phone, email and with handwritten notes
* Assist with winery projects, ranging from hospitality to administrative duties

EVENT MANAGER
* Drive awareness of and promote our new outdoor patio for both day and night time events
* Lead collaboration on event marketing campaigns
* Management of the entire event planning process
* Coordinate and manage on-site event staff
* Coordinate logistics and manage vendors to produce on-site events
* Coordinate and produce virtual online tastings via various platforms
* Manage, update and keep events current on the website
* Generate and present post-event recaps, reporting and analytics of each event
* Attend and pour wine at local hotels and welcome centers as well as consumer and trade events

QUALIFICATIONS
* College degree preferred
* Minimum 5 years wine industry experience
* Management experience a plus
* Knowledge of wine, wine industry and Napa Valley in general
* Have some event planning experience
* Have comprehensive experience with Zoom or other similar web services
* Comfortable with public speaking and guiding tours, hosting both small and large groups
* Be able to communicate effectively with a diverse range of guests and employees in a friendly and informed manner
* Work as part of a team in a courteous and respectful manner at all times
* Professional appearance (dress code according to company handbook), upbeat demeanor and positive nature
* Understand and accurately follow written and verbal instructions
* Attention to detail and have the ability to stay busy
* Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities
* Be a self-starter
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites (Outlook, Word, Excel)
* Proficiency in WineDirect a plus
* 21 years or older

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE
* Available to work weekends, occasional nights and some holidays
* Available to work up to 8 hours in a day, with occasional overtime
* Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
* Climb stairs repeatedly
* Repetitively lift 40 lbs. on a daily basis (case of wine)
* Set-up and break down tables, chairs and settings for group tastings, events and appointments
