Tamber Bey Vineyards is looking to hire a year round, full-time Cellar Hand. This position allows for the opportunity of working with a small, dedicated team which strives to make great wines from both Napa and Sonoma Counties. The successful candidate will be working in all aspects of production including cleaning, racking, topping, bottling, and all winery-related harvest activities. One will be exposed to a wide variety of fruit sources, but we focus primarily on high-end Napa Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from the Sonoma Coast. In addition to the Tamber Bey estate grown wines, the selected candidate will be involved in the day-to-day cellar operations for a number of Thomas Rivers Brown’s boutique projects including: Boars’ View, Maybach, Senses, Aston, Rivers-Marie, Shibumi Knoll, Hobel, The Grade, Kinsella, and Hestan, among others.
Essential duties and attributes:
-Safe and sanitary operation of all winery equipment
-Responsible for wine and juice additions
-Barrel operations (racking/cleaning/maintenance/inventory)
-Comprehension of types of pumps and their applications
-Self-motivated with excellent time-management skills
-Ability to stay focused throughout the day and adapt to changing work priorities
-Being able to work well within a team and contributing to a safe, productive work environment
-Exceptional communication skills
-Curious with a desire to learn and improve personal skill set
-Punctual and reliable
-Basic laboratory experience is a plus
-Being mechanically-inclined is a HUGE plus
