Patricia Green Cellars is a small, privately owned winery located in the Ribbon Ridge AVA, producing world class Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc & Chardonnay. We are seeking a high-energy, goal-oriented sales person to join our DTC sales team. This position focuses on appointment only tastings, day to day tasting operations, inventory and non-wine sales (merchandise). The position will work closely with the rest of the DTC team to assist in wine club operations, warehouse fulfillment, inventory management and website upkeep. The position will also encourage growth to help promote company image, products, and mandatory contribution to the expansion of new ideas to sell product and build brand loyalty at the winery and around the country. Experience in wine sales is required. There is considerable future growth potential for this position. Compensation is Salary, Benefits plus 2% of your sales.
Duties and responsibilities include:
• Tastings / Guest Relations
o Greet customers and make them feel welcome and comfortable upon arrival in a non-pretentious environment.
o Lead private wine tastings with emphasis on vineyards, clones, terroirs & history of Oregon Wine industry, while providing exceptional customer service to all winery guests.
o Close deals on wine sales and obtain new wine club memberships.
o Ability to learn our POS system and enter/fulfill sales orders (proficiency in Wine Direct back of the office and point of sale a plus).
o Maintain relationships and accommodate long-time supporting customers and existing wine club members.
o Maintain relationships with neighboring wineries, restaurants and B&B’s to encourage appointment referrals.
o Work all winery events (specifically Pre-Memorial Day, Memorial Day, Pre-Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving & wine club pick-ups).
• Shipping/Inventory Support
o Work with Shipping Manager to pack and fulfill all DTC orders.
o Work with Shipping Manager to unpack and organize all weekly wine deliveries.
o Pull together all pick-up orders for the customers coming in to taste or pick-up their wine.
o Assist in monthly inventory and packing supplies counts.
• Retail Support
o Daily tasting room set-up and break-down.
o Help maintain cleanliness and appearance of tasting room and grounds.
o Wash and polish glassware as needed.
o Assist in retail inventory and help with unloading wine, restocking, organizing and wine packing (must be able to lift 40+ pound cases of wine).
o Prepare and plate food pairings to accompany tastings.
o Pull orders and paperwork in the morning for pick-ups that day.
o Assist with packing and shipping of wines from the winery.
o Winery event set-up / break-down.
• Sales & Marketing Support
o Contact wine club members and retail customers to coordinate pick-up orders.
o Help maintain up-to-date information on Club Members to ensure smooth club processing.
o Participate in occasional consumer and trade events on & off site.
• Minimum of three years Tasting Room or restaurant leadership experience.
• A strong level of organizational and systems experience.
• Knowledge of Oregon wines and wine production.
• Excellent people management and customer service skills.
• Exceptional verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and POS systems.
• Must be capable of working independently while managing multiple tasks at once.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving techniques, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
