Job description
The Tasting Room Sales Associate serves as the first point of contact for the J. Bookwalter Tasting room experience. As an ambassador of the J. Bookwalter brand, you embody the customer service ideals of J. Bookwalter, including the ability to act with good judgment in all situations.
The ideal candidate will be highly detail-oriented, have a can-do attitude and be a self-starter. Previous retail sales experience and a passion for Washington wine are a plus. J. Bookwalter is a service-oriented establishment, and exceptional customer service skills are required. The ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment and manage multiple guests simultaneously is vital to success.
Duties and responsibilities
•  Welcome all tasting room guests and provide exceptional customer service throughout the customer journey
•  Educate and engage customers regarding J. Bookwalter wines, our history, and our facility
•  Promote the J. Bookwalter wine club to all customers. Meet or exceed monthly sign-up goals put in place by the Tasting Room Manager
•  Process orders & reservations correctly using POS software
•  Meet or exceed sales goals put in place by the Tasting Room Manager
•  Conduct facility tours and tastings for large groups
•  Attend employee meetings scheduled by Tasting Room Manager
•  Help with special events as scheduled by Tasting Room Manager
•  Assist club members in picking up club allocations and correctly documenting wine movement in the POS system
•  Conduct numerous other duties associated with a fast-paced retail environment including but not limited to the following
o Setting up Satellite tasting space and making it ready for customers before opening
o Maintaining high standards of quality control, hygiene, and health and safety
o Checking stock levels and requesting supplies as needed
o Preparing cash drawers for daily sales
o Packing shipments for online orders & club allocations
o Work off-site events, after or before regular operational hours
o Maintain a clean and organized tasting space throughout the business day
Minimum requirements:
•  Must be 21 years of age or older
•  Must be able to work on your feet for extended periods
•  Must be able to lift 50lbs regularly throughout your shift
•  A valid drivers' license and an acceptable driving record or the ability to transport yourself to and from various work locations.
•  Obtain a MAST & Food Handlers card within 14 days of employment
•  Must be able to work weekends
•  This position is part-time to full-time with growth opportunities in the wine industry

Compensation & Benefits
•  Tasting Room Sales Associates receive an hourly wage based on experience, plus gratuity and discounts on food & wine
