Job Description:

Looking to have a little fun, pour wine and talk with great people? Saddleback Cellars seeks qualified sales staff to join us in the heart of Oakville. Our Tasting Room Host will hold court at our small, laid-back winery part time, with tasting room hours from 10 am to 4 pm. With limited seating, your time is spent with guests in a relaxed vineyard setting, pouring exceptional wines and relaying the colorful history of Saddleback Cellars.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Appointment-Only Tasting Room hosting: achieve daily sales goals and club signups, taking and managing reservations via phone and online, managing flow of arrivals and departures, with the ability to entertain and upsell both the most seasoned wine sommeliers and the most casual wine tourist
- Knowledge of POS system and daily tasting room opening/closing procedures. Vin65 preferred, but will train.
- Doing your part in cultivating relationships with local concierges, tour drivers and neighbor wineries to ensure consistent and qualified visitation
- Providing a caring customer experience both in person and on the phone
- Work with a small team to achieve the day's goals; flexibility to perform hospitality outreach or inventory on slow days as well as crushing sales & club signups on the busiest visitation days
- Must be able to lift and move up to 40 lbs and the ability to wait tables
- Ability to work flexible hours for events and weekends a must
- Contribute to our Tasting Room's merchandizing, and overall cleanliness and order

Key Qualities for this individual:
- Napa Valley wine knowledge; good understanding of, or willingness to learn about varietals beyond the Bordeaux. At Saddleback, your love of wine and passion to share wine knowledge and gain more is a huge plus
- Team player that presents a warm, gracious and professional demeanor
- Attention to detail and follow-through are a must
- Outstanding communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and make informed decisions while under general supervision
- Excellent verbal skills; strong relationship building competency
- Valid CA driver’s license
- Must be over 21 years of age
