Job Description:

Long Walk Vineyard is a boutique wine producer, located in Ashland, Oregon, in the Rogue Valley. We have a state-of-the-art wine tasting house that overlooks our 50 acres of certified organic vineyards and orchards.

We are currently seeking a motivated, self-starter for our Tasting House Team. You will be part of our small tasting house staff, driving sales and wine club sign-ups, so a positive attitude and good salesmanship are a must. In addition to pouring, you will help keep an accurate inventory and assist the Tasting House Manager with winery events and special projects. Candidates need to be great communicators with good judgment and the ability to prioritize and multi-task. Willingness to work as part of a team and interact graciously with the public is absolutely necessary.

We’d love to see experienced tasting house workers and/or people starting careers in Hospitality Management or related fields. However, we will consider any self-motivating, fast learners with a passion for wine and an "above and beyond" mentality when it comes to customer service!

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES?
Greet all visitors to the Tasting House, pours wines for tasting, discusses wine, and responds to customer questions as appropriate.?
Ensures that every visitor enjoys their wine tasting experience and leaves with a very high impression of our wines.?
Accurately describes wines, winemaking techniques, winery history, appellations, and unique aspects of wines.?
Effectively promotes and sells wine and Wine Club memberships to customers.

Adheres to and enforces COVID Safety Guidelines.

Prepares and serves charcuterie and cheese boards as needed.
•  Handles routine purchasing transactions, including operating cash register, accounting of daily sales, and processing returns and discounts.?
Takes the initiative for self-development in the areas of our wines, our brands, general hospitality, and for acquiring effective sales techniques and acumen.?
Participates and assists with special hospitality events that occur at the tasting room.
•  Assists with display and pricing of wines as needed.?
Washes and polishes glassware.?
Maintains order and cleanliness of Tasting House.?
Fills out daily reports as assigned by Tasting House Manager.
Other duties as assigned.

Must be at least 21 years of age.?

OLCC Certified

OR Food Handlers certificate?

Valid driver's license?

Tasting House Hours are Thursday - Sunday 11 am - 4pm
Hours for the position are 16-20 per week; Saturday and Sunday availability a must
Ability to lift 40 lbs.
