Fullerton Wines has an amazing opportunity for you at our downtown Tasting Room in Portland’s Slabtown district, where we are bringing wine country to the city. Fullerton Wines is a small family run winery that is a rapidly growing Willamette Valley wine producer. We are looking for part time Tasting Room Associate positions. Compensation is hourly-based, plus wine club sales and tips.
Wine knowledge is mandatory and a burning desire to learn more is essential
Great personality and a positive attitude are musts
Excellent communication skills; both verbal and in writing required
OLCC and Food Handler’s Licenses; easily attained
Eagerness to learn and retain knowledge
Great team player
Highly motivated by means of willingness and actions
Ability to increase and create sales while building and fostering excellent guest relationships
Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Must be 21 years of age
Must be able to work weekends and evenings
Must be able to work holidays
Kitchen experience is a plus
Greet all guests in a warm and welcoming way and meet each guest at their level of knowledge and interest
Lead guests through an educational wine tasting while creating an approachable and memorable experience.
Effectively suggest and sell wine
Effectively sell club memberships by explaining the benefits and the value of joining our wine club.
Prepare the indoor and outdoor space of the tasting room by dusting and cleaning all surfaces, vacuuming and mopping floors, keep the bathroom impeccably clean at all times, daily preparation of food to be served for our guests (cheese and charcuterie platters)
Open, date bottles and check quality of wines prior to serving.
Make sure that all printed materials are presentable
Manage cash drawer
Stock wine for tastings and for sale on the floor.
Place orders for the tasting room, and orders to be shipped.
Maintain impeccable and organized guest spaces at all times.
Assist at winery events outside of the tasting room
Assist at winemaker’s dinners and other events
Present yourself in a professional manner at all times.
Daily duties include putting together small plates of food
You must have a passion for people and wine
You must have a positive attitude and outlook on things
Always look to gain knowledge by asking questions and learning by listening and watching
Comfortable speaking in front of large groups of people, and able to take command when necessary.
Ability to work independently, and find things to do during quiet times
Ability to work under stress and still remain calm and collected
Must be 21 years of age.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
Must be able to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment
Must have a valid drivers license and a clean driving record
