DEUTSCH FAMILY WINE & SPIRITS IN STAMFORD, CT IS CURRENTLY SEEKING A BRAND MANAGER of INNOVATION & BRAND CREATION

THE ROLE
Reporting to the Chief Strategy and Growth Officer, this role will be responsible for the development and management of new brands that we will introduce into our incubation channel. This role will help lead the new brand creation process collaboratively with the Creative, Production, Sales and New Business & Consumer Insights teams. Once the brands are created, this role will lead the launch and marketing and on-going support of the brands while they are in our incubation channel, with the goal of reaching a sales velocity that makes it a large and significant brand in the incubation channel or potentially even result in a national launch.

Qualifications:
•  BS/BA degree, preferably in Marketing or Communications; MBA preferred
•  Minimum of 6 years’ experience in brand management and/or innovation
•  Has deep knowledge and experience in new brand creation, with examples of commercial success
•  A strategic thinker, with the ability to create a comprehensive assessment of market segments and competition to understand what opportunities can be exploited and how a brand can take advantage
•  Deep and instinctive understanding of what consumers want, what motivates them and how brands can deliver against those needs better than competition
•  Knows how to leverage consumer insight to create brand DNA’s that have true points of difference in Positioning, Packaging, Product, Promotion, and Pricing
•  Impeccable sense of good design. Consistently demonstrates technical expertise in judging creative work. Articulates clearly and concisely whether an execution/piece of creative does or does not deliver the brief or supports the idea
•  Is able to inspire and excite cross-functional, especially creative and product development partners.
•  Strong ability to hold themselves and others to the highest standards of quality in creation and execution
•  Able to operate with significant autonomy and influence with functions and entities across all levels of the organization as well as external partners
•  Exhibits a high level of curiosity, often digs a layer deeper in search of insight without being asked
•  Is optimistic in the face of barriers and failures, has the patience and fortitude to press forward with new solutions and/or ideas until the best one is found
•  Excellent organization and attention to detail
•  Excellent command presence as well as polished active listening skills
•  Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong presentation skills


Responsibilities:
•  Understand, analyze, and share insights about market segments that we want to enter and how we can strategically compete in them. Channel these insights and strategies into a tight brief
•  Recommend new brand creation opportunities that meet the company strategy
•  Work with New Business and Consumer Insights team to design and implement a Consumer Research plan
•  Work with internal and external creative agencies to develop new brand concepts
•  Work with production team to create winning liquid profiles that deliver against the brief. Also ensure production feasibility of both liquid and packaging
•  Develop a deep understanding of the incubation channel and collaborate effectively with Key Customers and the Sales team calling on those key customers
•  Develop launch and on-going marketing plans for the incubation channel, with the goal of building brand volume and velocity
•  Develop sales and marketing materials specified in marketing plans
•  Ensure brand building activities/investments have a good ROI
•  Manage the business P&L while in the incubation channel, ensuring we are on track to plan goals
•  Drive monthly business reporting, analyzing sales data, activity evaluations and brand research sources to derive and report on key actionable business insights for the brands
