Regional Sales Manager, Northern California

Job Description:

Palmateer Wine Group is a leading niche wine sales company focused on selling a small portfolio of authentic, family owned brands. The company has an immediate opening for an experienced sales manager to represent its brands in Northern California selling through an established distributor network. The ideal candidate will have extensive wine sales experience and a passion for selling wines to all types of trade accounts. This candidate will report to the company’s Western Sales manager.

Responsibilities include:
>Developing and maintaining close working relationships with key chain accounts.
>Presenting wines to independent on and off premise trade accounts.
>Motivating and managing the distributor network; implementing programs and incentives.
>Conducting sales meetings with distributor representatives; coordinating and representing the winery at winemaker
dinners and other sales events; educating wait staff and retailers.
>Providing feedback on market conditions and opportunities to colleagues and suppliers

> 3+ years of experience selling wine required.
> Experience building brands and relationships with key on and off-premise trade accounts.
> Extensive experience selling wines to independent on and off-premise accounts
> Strong existing trade relationships.
> Road savvy with the ability to travel throughout Northern California.
> Proactive, upbeat and highly motivated with excellent communication and presentation skills.
> Strong planning, organizational and time management skills.
> Love and knowledge of fine international & domestic wines.
> Excels in small, fast-paced companies.
> Computer proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

Salary: Competitive package, salary plus commission
