Temp QC Material Inspector

Job Description:

Position Purpose

Under general supervision, the QC Material Inspector will follow through on set processes and ensure supplier adherence to product quality standards. This position will receive general instructions on day to day activities and receives detailed instructions on new assignments.

Functional Responsibility

Essential Duties

•  Performs random inspection of packaging materials to ensure they meet Delicato specification at the time of receiving
•  Determines which materials to randomly inspect based on supplier performance and the material & rsquo;s potential effect on-line efficiency
•  Determines sample size using Military Standard 105E
•  Monitors packaging materials in storage to ensure they meet manufacturer recommended storage conditions
•  Leads material sorting process as needed
•  Reports supplier performance to the Packaging Engineer
•  Collects material defects and defect rates from the packaging process

Non-Essential Duties

•  As time allows, participates in supplier audits.
•  Issues supplier CARs as needed.
•  Assists with monitoring potential material issues on the packaging line

Minimum Requirements

Education and Experience

•  1+ year Quality Control monitoring or related experience
•  Some related-coursework or two-year Associate (AA) degree preferred
•  Packaging material production and/or inspection experience desired

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

•  Must possess proven interpersonal, oral and written communication and listening skills
•  Professional demeanor with customers, vendors and co-workers, especially under stressful situations
•  Positive team player with the ability to break down communication barriers, be open to new ideas and share knowledge with the team
•  Proficient in desktop applications of Microsoft Office
•  SAP Knowledge helpful

Working Conditions

•  General manufacturing plant work
•  At times, may work in noisy and dirty conditions
