About Underground Cellar

Underground Cellar is a Y Combinator and VC-backed startup based in San Francisco that is currently experiencing hyper-growth. We’ve ‘gamified’ wine sales through our addictive e-commerce platform that gives buyers a great value through “upgrades”, allowing wineries to quickly sell wine without resorting to brand-damaging discounts. Since launching in 2014, Underground Cellar has sold over 750,000 bottles of wine, and has just eclipsed sales of $1M per month.

What you will do and the impact you will have:

As the leader of our Marketing team, you will develop and implement a cohesive Integrated Marketing Communications plan; lead all marketing initiatives and track KPIs; provide analytical analysis and hands-on execution of tasks; lead and motivate marketing teams; convert board and management requests into actionable tasks and insights.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a cohesive Integrated Marketing Communications plan.
Lead all marketing initiatives.
Track KPIs.
Provide analytical analysis and hands-on execution of tasks.
Lead and motivate marketing teams.
Convert board and management requests into actionable tasks and insights.
Design and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to create awareness of the company’s business activities.
Develop and manage marketing budgets.
Oversee team that runs FB Ads and test new channels.
Run marketing meetings holding team members accountable to deadlines/projects.
Manage a marketing team- including hiring, training, workloads, schedules and deadlines.
Manage agency providers, consultants, freelancers and other suppliers, including contract negotiation and management.
Develop sales forecasting and product branding plans.
Oversee social media strategy and implementation.
Create marketing reports to present to team members and shareholders.

Experience & Skill-set:

Education- College graduate, marketing focused
Experience as Marketing Director preferred
Interest in wine, industry experience is not necessary
Experience with Social Media Platforms, Google Sheets, MailChimp, and Facebook Ads
Solid work ethic and the ability to learn quickly
Can work with a high level of autonomy
Someone who knows how to hustle, while still maintaining attention to detail
Resourceful with an adaptive attitude, willing to roll with the punches and experiment with new ideas
