Job Description:

The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) leads sales initiatives for a National IMPORTER in the South East market (FL, GA, SC, AL, NC)

RSM will call on and sell to the key independent retail, chain and on-premise accounts. RSM will ensure IMPORTER has the appropriate Wholesale distribution partners in Southeast and will provide leadership to those wholesaler’s sales teams. Performance will be measured by accounts sold, sales volume, and in-market profitability.

Grow IMPORTER’S business in Southeast market
Sell, promote, and educate distributors, retailers and restaurants on IMPORTER Portfolio
Develop and maintain relationships with the top On/Off premise Key Accounts
Manage wholesaler sales reps to achieve IMPORTER depletion and distribution goals
Represent IMPORTER with regional chain buyers
Conduct retailer/restaurant tastings and staff training meetings
Monitor in-store depletions with store sales personnel
Execute performance targets: Volume, accounts sold and profitability goals
Ensure a positive image for the company in the region
Fulfill all administrative responsibilities as required/directed

1. Gain new shelf, list and BTG placements and keep existing ones, both on and off premise
2. Manage relationship with Distributor Personnel (Salespeople and Management)
3. Coordinate, schedule, and participate in distributor work-withs
4. Maintain a list of active top 50 On/Off Premise Key Accounts in each state
5. Conduct in-store retail tastings, on-premise trainings, and wine dinners
6. Deliver quarterly progress reports against depletion and account sold goals
7. Weekly conference and status report with management
8. Participate in relevant trade/distributor shows as requested
9. Stay within budget and deliver on profitability measures

BA/BS degree preferred
Excellent project management skills and attention to detail
Minimum three years fine wine sales, general management, or marketing experience
Proven sales skills and success in customer management within this territory
Demonstrated ability to work with high integrity and ethics
Success in educating and motivating others
Excellent communication skills (spoken and written)
Proficient in creating sales presentations and supporting documentation
Proven track record in team performances
Willingness and ability to travel to key accounts for which responsible
Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds
Valid driver's license and a clean driving record

Full time resident of Florida preferred but must be resident of either FL, GA, SC, AL, NC.
This position is the only fully dedicated supplier salesperson in the Southeast market for this IMPORTER so their efforts will have a significant impact on the sales performance of this region
