HUNNICUTT Wines is a Boutique winery and custom crush facility. We are located in St. Helena, and dedicated to making premium Napa Valley wine.
The Harvest Enologist position is a unique opportunity to gain hands on experience monitoring fermentations, and participating in all aspects of winemaking during our harvest months.
This position includes, but is not limited to:
Pulling daily fermentation samples for all fermenting wine
Analyzing brix and temperature
Recording and communicating anaysis to all winemakers in a timely and legible fashion
Inoculating must and juice
Feeding all fermentations
Organization and inventory of all winemaking products
Pulling and labeling wine samples for offsite wine lab
Running Free Sulfur analysis on aging wines
Performing General cellar work such as: sanitation, pump-overs, fruit processing, pressing operations, barrel prep, and wine transfers
All other duties as assigned
Must have positive attitude, a desire to learn and grow, be able to lift 50lbs repeatedly, must have good working knowledge of Exel, Googledocs, Outlook, (Vintrace preferred)
Must be able to read and communicate effectively in English
Must be comfortable working alone and in groups
Must be willing and able to work from 7AM to 7PM 6 days a week.
Must have own trasnportation and housing
Preferred: Some winemaking education, working knowlegde of general wine analysis, comfort with the microsoft office suite
