Reporting to the Director of Wholesale Sales, and ideally based in Texas, this role will be responsible for the wholesale territory of Texas, Colorado, and Louisiana. This role will maintain an in-depth and thorough knowledge of the area marketplace conditions and will implement strategies developed by senior management to assure an increase in market share, sales and drive profitable business plans to achieve company goals and objectives for the Peju brands. This role will aggressively and proactively identify market opportunities and allocate resources to capitalize on those opportunities. The Southwest Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the area wholesale market.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Manage the defined area wholesale business while ensuring that company strategies and values are intact.
Achieve annual sales targets set with the management team.
Effectively manage all budget line items to stay within defined budgets.
Continuously review and analyze sales costs, budgets and forecast to determine progress toward goals and objectives.
Work within brand standards to ensure retail pricing and programming integrity.
Provide timely and relevant reports for the Director of Wholesale Sales and management team as needed.
Manage distributor relationships and performance by utilizing a strong understanding of the pricing system and program creation implementation while developing mutually agreed accounts sold and depletion targets.
Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition.
Develop strong working relationships with wholesalers and key trade.
Articulate and implement company initiatives with executive distributor management and
Manage distributor performance. Monthly, Quarterly, Annually.
Help manage proper inventory levels in each market.
Assist distributors in promoting sales.
Manage key trade relationships by making regular and direct calls on key accounts both independently and with distributor personnel.
Promote company’s brands to distributor sales force, on-premise and off-premise accounts on an ongoing basis.
Manage all area market/trade events to ensure they are aligned with company brand standards.
Develop market coverage plan for proper time management of travel, event coverage and trade/field work.
Recognize opportunities to generate and develop new business and distribution.
Implement strategic programming created by management team, keeping within brand standards to gain placements and keep company brands top of mind.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Sales and Marketing or related field, or equivalent experience.
5+ years successful track record in fine wine industry sales management or in luxury consumer products sales management (strong knowledge of wine industry three-tier system preferred).
Willingness to travel 50% +, including local market work.

Possesses a passion for fine wine and the wine business, knowledgeable about fine wine.
