Job Description:

The Business Development Specialist is responsible for selling the La Garde high end products, developing potential markets, maintaining and expanding its contact network with prospects, customers and KOL’s. He is also in charge of identifying opportunities, preparing tenders and ensure that the company is invited to submit proposals. He will be required to follow up with prospects, handle objections and negotiate to sign contracts as well as providing an outstanding customer service.

Specific responsibilities (tasks):
•  Active business development and sales of La Garde high end brand;
•  Develop and maintain a network of contacts in targeted network to identify business opportunities and represent the company to customers and suppliers;
•  Ensure current and potential clients are well informed about SML’s and La Garde’s services, products and processes and that they are well served and fully satisfied with their experience with all SML stakeholders;
•  Identify sources of problems and make recommendations to the appropriate manager for corrections in the execution of each project and propose product improvements and new product development;
•  Ensure the company’s brands becomes and remains flagships;
•  Remain on the lookout of the market trends and the competition;
•  Communicate and meet with potential clients in order to be invited to submit a price proposal;
•  Receive tender documents, sends them to the estimating department and follow up accordingly, so that the submission deadlines are met;
•  Perform the appropriate follow-ups (on the phone, by email and in-person) to potential clients, in order to promote the value of La Garde’s offer;
•  Negotiate with clients in order to reach a contract signature and where appropriate, negotiates the terms and conditions of the contracts;
•  Obtain the submissions results of projects whether obtained and lost, in order to improve the results of future proposals;
•  Imagine, design or assist the customer in their design process to create a new product or a new business opportunity;
•  Ensure the continuous improvement of the processes of its function and take actions to increase its efficiency;
•  Recommend the necessary modifications to ensure the achievement of our objectives;
•  Contribute, through his attitude, to create a team-friendly work environment;
•  Provide support to the Sales Director, and other directors for different mandates;
•  Perform any other related tasks.

Required Qualifications :
•  Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or other related field and/or sales training;
•  Strong ability to communicate with consultants, clients, suppliers, employees and management, both orally and in writing, and to create lasting relationships;
•  High customer orientation, good management of priorities and respect of deadlines;
•  High autonomy, resourcefulness, quickness, interpersonal skills, creativity, motivation and good team spirit and analysis;
•  Leadership, great problem-solving skills and rapid informed decision-making;
•  Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously;
•  Respect for confidentiality, loyalty and great listening skills;
•  Good stress management, ability to negotiate and to adapt to change;
•  Attention to detail, great sense of organization and responsibility.

Required Profile :
•  5 to 10 years of experience in similar functions;
•  Selling skills proficient;
•  Master IT tools (MS Office Suite, Internet);
•  Available for frequent trips (50% of the time);
•  Experience in the manufacturing sector, an asset;
•  Experience in design, an asset;
•  Knowledge of stainless steel, an asset;
•  Knowledge of the wine industry, an asset;
•  Legal knowledge for the preparation of contracts, an asset;
•  Bilingual (French-English), an asset (both oral and written)
•  Home based within the territory
