Pacific Northwest Sales Manager

Job Description:

The Pacific Northwest Sales Manager is responsible for selling Lemelson Vineyards ultra-premium Pinot noir and other varietals primarily in the PNW, with assistance to the National Sales Manager in other areas of the Western United States. The successful candidate has experience in wine sales, with a clearly defined track record of increasing sales volumes during all manner of economic climates. He/she will be responsible for maintaining communication within the states of Oregon, Washington, Montana, and Idaho and will ensure that each distributor maintains a healthy level of all core items. Good communication skills are a must; the owner and management team appreciate clarity of communication; even-tempered character; high levels of personal responsibility; and a good attitude.

Essential Duties:

Achieve annual regional shipment, depletion and profitability goals
Continually develop and maintain strong relationships with key accounts
Monitor our distribution partners’ depletions
Educate, train, develop, and motivate our distributors’ salesforce
Ensure sales execution, pricing integrity, and brand strategy development with our distributor partner’s staff and salesforce
Prospect new accounts following the sales strategy established with management
Weekly communication with management (activity and market reports)
Attend Key Market Trade Shows and host Consumer Wine Tastings and Dinners
Conduct on-going training and tastings for key on-premise and off-premise accounts

Skills & Aptitudes:
Proven sales ability
Excellent selling skills
Knowledge of/relationships with Key Accounts in the Pacific Northwest metropolitan areas
Knowledge and enthusiasm for fine wines
Detail-oriented, trustworthy and reliable
Good organizational and time management skills
Strong negotiation skills
Ability to speak confidently in front of large groups

Job Knowledge & Educational Level:
Bachelor’s Degree
Minimum of 3 years of experience in the premium wine business
Experience with the three-tier system
Computer proficiency: Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Diver, VIP, and traditional salesforce software

Additional Position Requirements:
Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Flexible work hours with availability for some night and weekend work
Position to be based in the Portland Metropolitan area
