Francis Ford Coppola Winery seeks a Bottling Line Mechanic to perform a wide variety of skilled mechanic and electrical duties that include installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing and modifying bottling and facility production equipment.
Under general supervision, performs a wide variety of skilled mechanic and electrical duties to install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair and modify bottling and facility production equipment. Maintains the electrical and electronic aspects of bottling operations and provides technical capability to maximize production efficiency using PLC's (Programmable Logic Controllers).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintains bottling equipment and associated infrastructure, including hardware, PLCS, and line synchronization.
Improve bottling line efficiency through changes to automated controls
Utilize technical skills in troubleshooting, adjusting, and repairing packaging machinery that demonstrates literacy and required sophistication to manage PLC environments and to solve all mechanical and electrical problems
Install and program electronic controls: i.e., VFD's, HMI's, PLC's
Install and terminate wiring for new equipment
Interface with vendors to maintain support network
Provide support to production line staff to ensure efficient daily operational efficiencies are achieved.
Maintain backup programs of all PLC bottling line programs
Keep current with the latest developments for bottling line control
Train new PLC technicians
Ability to setup and modify parameters in vision inspection systems
Maintains equipment warranties and all maintenance records.
Wire and troubleshoot on all electrical systems.
Responsible for bottling line changeovers, adjustments, synchronization of equipment, and equipment up-time.
Assembles and installs mechanical and electro-mechanical equipment and systems, including production machinery, tooling, conveyor systems, storage racks and tanks.
Performs preventive maintenance and tactical maintenance.
Maintains all records for preventive and tactical maintenance.
Follow general housekeeping procedures including sweeping, machine and tool cleaning.
Conducts on-going assessment of safety and operational procedures.
Ensures line up-time to meet bottling schedule.
Maintains equipment to meet packaging standards and established guidelines.
Complete work in a timely manner.
Install/troubleshoot mechanical equipment which may include weekends and overtime.
Follow Bottling Line SOPs.
Follow safety and operational procedures.
Maintains equipment to meet packaging start times consistently.
Complies with relevant OSHA regulatory requirements.
Performs other duties as assigned by bottling manager.
Cover Shifts when needed.
3 years related experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Prior experience with production line changeovers.
Prior machine electrical Experience preferred.
Prior experience on the operation and maintenance of pressure fillers highly desirable.
Ability to read schematics.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Ability to manage priorities, workflow and time management.
Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
Ability to perform basic math.
