Job Description:

Wines of the West is a new winery opening in Paso Robles. We are seeking full-time Tasting Room Associates to join our team. Wines of the West is part of the Vintage Wine Estates, Inc. portfolio. Vintage Wine Estates, Inc. is a collection of vintner family-owned winery estates and brands based in Santa Rosa, California. We are an industry leader across all sales channels and dedicated to providing wine consumers with a range of wine selections from $10 to $100 dollars.

The ideal candidates will be out-going, magnetic and approachable individuals who are passionate about customer service, sales and building relationships. Wine knowledge is preferred but not required. Professionals with bar-tending and/or restaurant experience are highly desirable. Must be willing to work weekends and holidays. Scheduled days and hours may vary by location.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Greet all visitors and pour wines for tasting
Create a memorable experience for guests
Sell wine and wine club memberships based on monthly goal
Describe wines and winery history; answer visitors’ questions about wines
Provide general tourist information
Handle routine sales transactions that include operating the register and accounting of daily sales
Assist with display and stocking of retail items and wines
Assist in maintaining cleanliness of facilities
Assist with special events as needed
Represent winery at outside functions as needed
Acquire and maintain thorough knowledge of winery and its wines

REQUIRED SKILLS: 

Excellent verbal communication skills
Excellent presentation skills
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Ability to manage priorities and workflow
Proficient on the computer (familiar with POS systems, Microsoft Office)

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Wine related experience helpful and knowledge of wines and wine production
TIPS and CA Food Handler Certifications preferred, but not required
Professional appearance and demeanor
