Hertelendy Vineyards is a high end, luxury Napa Valley winery that does mostly Direct-to-Consumer sales with some restaurant and retail business in just a handful of states as well. We are a small (1000 cases), allocated winery, and are looking to improve our sales force for wholesale accounts while also improving our DTC model. Our wines get highly rated and are in distinguished restaurants like The French Laundry, Press, Morimotos, etc.
We are now seeking a confident, ambitious, and highly motivated salesperson who finds sales to be their strong suits. This candidate knows how to grow existing accounts and open new accounts, while representing our high end brand as a respected brand ambassador who offers outstanding customer service. Our challenge right now is that we are still relatively new, so not many people have heard about us (even with 98-point ratings). That is where you would come in with your likable personality and extraordinary sales ability to introduce our wines to potential clientele and close those deals. It will be your job to know where and how to find these people, so previous experience would greatly benefit you.
Job Duties include:
—Selling wine in person (must be willing to travel), via email, and on the telephone to clientele, restaurants, and other high end locales
—Pouring wine at specific local wine events when needed
—Responding to customer inquiries via telephone or email

—Has demonstrated a track record of success in sales
—Ability to work independently and flourish in a self-organized environment
—Attention to detail and follow through are a must
—Focused and possesses great communication skills
—Developing and maintaining strong relationships with buyers to capture new business.
—Must be willing to work occasional weekends and evenings as needed
—At least one year of relevant sales work experience (preferably in the wine industry)
—Bachelors Degree and diverse work experience preferred
—Hospitality and wine industry contacts preferred
—Knowledge of wine industry and viticulture a plus
—Must be over 21 years of age, have a valid CA driver’s license, and ability to travel for events
—Must be able to lift a 50 pound case of wine as needed (although that won't be a regular thing).
This position is commission based only with a sliding scale incentive, so you get what you put in and the sky is the limit. This position is ideal for someone who is already very well-connected and highly motivated, or a rep who already has 2 or 3 brands, already showcases those brands to accounts, and wants to include one more brand in their portfolio.
