Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Greet all visitors to the winery and pour wines for tasting and educate our guests on the uniqueness of our brand and winery history.
Create a memorable experience for our guests
Have good computer skills
Accurately handle routine purchase transactions, including operating cash register and cash handling.
Assist customers with the carry out of purchases to their vehicles when necessary.
Offer general tourist information.
Maintain the appearance of the tasting room, including daily cleaning list.
Assist with receiving and restocking of winery merchandise and stock wine as needed.
Assist with special events as needed
Answer and manage incoming phone calls and taking of shipping orders
Learn and retain thorough knowledge of the winery and our wines
Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
Experience and/or Skills:
Two years retail, food/beverage and/or tasting room experience
Strong verbal and written communication skills required
Report on sales information, ability to multi-task, cash handling, computer knowledge and cash register experience is highly desirable.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly standing for periods of time (4-8 hours per shift).
An employee in this position will perform a wide variety of tasks that require attention to detail, composure and creativity in dealing with mployees and customers, and the ability to think and react quickly under pressure.
Must be 21 years of age or older and required to attain the MAST certification and a food handlers permit within 30 days of being hired.
Wash and polish glassware for tasting room.
Communicate in a clear, understandable speaking voice, capable of communicating information to fellow employees, vendors and guests.
Ability to repeatedly stoop, lift and occasionally carry up to 50 pound cases of wine.
No heavily scented perfumes, hand lotions, or hair products are allowed as they interfere with wine tasting.
The tasting room is a non-smoking work environment. Employees working in the tasting room are asked to not smoke during a work day and be free from any aroma that may be associated with smoking.
While preforming the duties of this job, the employee usually works in the tasting room with moderate noise levels, heavy people traffic, food, wine and business office machines.
Weekends and some holiday work is required.
When necessary must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
