WILLAMETTE VALLEY - LACHINI VINEYARDS is seeking several harvest interns for the upcoming 2019 vintage. You will get to work in our new winery (15min south of PDX) in Tualatin, OR as well as also have some work at our vineyard located in Newberg, Oregon.
We produce approx. 8,000 cases of ultra-premium Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Rose’ ourced almost exclusively from our Biodynamically farmed Estate Vineyard as well as & Cabernet Sauvignon from other reputable vineyards (including WA & CA).
Previous vintage experience working inside a winery is preferential as is winemaking coursework. Open to those desiring to further their wine education who work in the restaurant industry. Forklift experience a bonus. Intern positions will last for approximately 9-12 weeks, generally from the mid-end of September into November. There is a potential for one intern to remain on as a cellar master or cellar assistant.
Must be able to work long, variable hours including weekends and have a good understanding of the wine making process and a passion for Pinot Noir.
You will get to participate in EVERY facet of harvest/crush - vintage work includes but is not limited to: fruit sampling, lab analysis, fruit sorting, pump overs, punch downs, additions, fermentation monitoring, lab work, barrel work & racking, pressing, labs & fermentation monitoring and lots of cleaning.
