Mansfield-Dunne Wines specializes in small lots of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Syrah from premier vineyards in the Santa Lucia Highlands. Our San Francisco facility, which includes custom crush clients, is looking for harvest interns to help with the 2019 vintage. We offer a unique opportunity to work with premium fruit from the Santa Rita Hills, Santa Maria Valley, Santa Lucia Highlands, Chalone, Santa Cruz Mountains, Lodi, Amador, Sonoma Coast, Russian River Valley, Napa Valley, Anderson Valley, and Yorkville Highlands. You will also have the opportunity to work with a variety of winemakers and their different winemaking styles in a single harvest.
We are looking for highly-motivated individuals who can follow written and verbal instructions to work independently in a complex environment. While an education in winemaking or related fields is not required, all candidates should possess a love of wine and strong interest in learning the intricacies of winemaking through harvest. The responsibilities of the position are listed below:
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Equipment and tank sanitation
• Crushing, sorting, pressing
• Fermentation monitoring and additions
• Cap management
• Drain & press operations
• Barrel preparation
• Operation of harvest equipment
• Wine/must movements
• General winery clean up
• Possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and is team oriented
• Able to work long hours potentially six days per week
• Previous industry experience preferred but not required
• Forklift experience is a plus
Hours: Seasonal Full-Time
Duration: Mid – late August 2019 through late October 2019
