Vintage Wine Estates is a collection of vintner family-owned winery estates and brands based in Santa Rosa, California. Vintage Wine Estates is a dynamic, growing organization seeking a Market Development Manager to join the VWE Spirits Division. Customer service is central in our culture, with focus on both our external and our internal customers. The Craft Spirits Market Area Manager will be responsible for the development and execution of market strategy to drive successful performance to ensure goals are achieved through Distributor Management and relationship building with top accounts. This role is the driving force for the performance and growth of VWE spirit brands within an assigned territory; strong communication, presentation, networking and interpersonal skills will be key to the success in this role. This position is remote and Northern California focused.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

-Develop, implement and achieve fiscal year sales goals through channel focused tactics and set Action Plans. 
-Develop, implement and execute sales programs and pricing strategy.
-Drive sales and developing strong relationship with key on and off premise customers in your assigned markets
through negotiations, selling, and building long lasting relationships with customers, SGWS, YMCO and the market.
-Review monthly account performance thru sales volume and account sold tracking.
-Develop and execute distribution standards with our Distributor personnel/stakeholders.
-Lead the customer planning process.
-Build and maintain close working relationships with the top on and off premise accounts.
-Coordinate field work with key distributor sales personnel.
-Conduct mid-year and annual planning and review meetings with the distributor, in order to actively identify areas of market opportunity and address accordingly.
-Deliver fact-based selling presentations as a way to communicate VWE objectives / brand strategies and keep brands at the forefront at distributor meetings.
-Ongoing distributor management responsibilities including monitoring of key performance objectives (KPO’s), price points (including competitive set), orders, shipments, samples, training, POS management and budget management.
-Provide monthly reports and status / accomplishments recap to the National Craft Spirit Manager.
-Assist in the development of the State budget plans under the direction of the National Craft Spirit Manager and the West Zone V.P. Sales and/or Region Manager.
Sharing of best practices, i.e. Use of economies of scale and Innovations.
-Takes a lead in self-development and initiates discussion with direct manager on development plans.  Seeks feedback. 
-All other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS: 

-Demonstrated leadership, excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, organizational, and people management skills.
-Ability to successfully execute sales plans and marketing strategies.
-Excellent planning and organizational skills.
-Ability to understand and apply market intelligence to sales strategy; read and evaluate sales and marketing reports, analysis, and trends.
-Genuine and persuasive presence to influence decision-makers.
-Strong organizational and excellent interpersonal skills.
-Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining acute attention to detail.
-Skilled in relationship management.
-Effective communication skills, and a thorough understanding of process management and continuous improvement.
-Exceptional skills in Microsoft Windows, Office, Excel, and Google Docs.  

QUALIFICATIONS: 

-3 – 5+ years Field Sales experience, preferably in the Spirits and/or Beverage industry.
-Distributor(s) and retail (key) performance management
-Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, or related area preferred
-Ability to create, maintain and build professional relationships.
-Effective use of networking and strong interpersonal skills.
-Demonstrated track record of performance and delivery.
-Excellent presentation, organizational, analytical and written/oral communication skills.
-Proficiency with Diver software, MS office and related applications.
-Must have a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record. 

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

-Must be able to manipulate a computer keyboard that can involve repetitive motion.
