The Sonoma Distilling Company is an established whiskey-focused distillery located in Rohnert Park, California. We are seeking an organized & enthusiastic individual to lead our direct to consumer (DTC) team in the role of Tasting Room and Hospitality Manager. The company is a growing & dynamic business, with a hard-working, energetic team committed to handcrafting premium California whiskeys from grain to glass. Our ideal candidate is a quick study with a willingness to learn who will excel in a fast-paced, industrial-vibe distillery environment. This person must be exceedingly well-organized, flexible and thrive on the intricacies of providing top-notch hospitality and world class service. This person must also have a proven track record of success in building an organization from the ground up and in managing a successful wine, beer, or spirits tasting room.

Job Summary:
This full-time, benefited position supports sales and marketing operations by managing all aspects of daily consumer and trade focused tasting room operations. Key responsibilities include hosting tours and tastings, managing events, management of inventory, whiskey club administration and growth, tour management and consumer/corporate business development through local outreach activities, and social media management. Other administrative duties as required. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being in a position requiring self-motivation, solution-oriented problem solving, outside-the-box innovations in revenue generating activities and leading a team with an energetic, organized, and customer service-focused mindset.

Primary Responsibilities:
Tasting Room Operations and Inventory Management
Management of tour reservations and guest confirmations
Management of tasting room schedule
Daily tour and tastings with knowledge and enthusiasm for the spirits category (specifically whiskey) and the company’s brand
Lead a small team with a positive attitude and provide guests with an exceptional experience while achieving agreed upon tasting room revenue goals
Receive, process, and pack phone-in whiskey orders in accordance with federal and state regulations
Coordinate monthly inventory counts and reconciliation; transfers of inventory between warehouses
Coordinate retail merchandise purchases and merchandising displays functions

Business Development/Outreach:
Assist the Marketing team in local business outreach to drive consumer, corporate and DTC tasting room traffic
Attend industry and tourism networking/business-building events to create awareness of distillery offerings
Develop relationships with key hotels, casinos, concierge teams, transportation and other companies to drive traffic
Assist in planning and executing private, corporate and community events to generate exposure and revenue
Assist Marketing in developing unique distillery offerings as a point of difference for the brand (whiskey & food pairings, whiskey flight tastings, specialized tours/classes, etc.)
Coordinate with retained photographer to capture special events and building support documents for future campaigns.

Whiskey Club Administration:
Manage growing whiskey club member accounts and pickup schedules
Provide data entry into Club CRM, provide quarterly reports on Club financials
Perform club retention and sales communication functions to create loyalty
Assist Marketing with quarterly communications and outreach
Assist Marketing by planning, implementing and attending quarterly Whiskey Club pick up events

Social Media Administration:
A component of the consumer facing responsibilities of this position requires using company planning & posting tools in supported of events, tasting room activities and sales team tastings.

Required Experience:
Highly organized, independent worker with effective problem-solving skills
Team-oriented attitude
Good sense of humor; takes the job seriously, but not themselves
1-5 years of tasting room or hospitality experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google and various cloud-based tools
Able to learn and apply the company’s POS system
Able to learn and apply the company’s tour reservation software system
Working knowledge and/or strong interest in mixology, cocktail-making and craft spirit industry
Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

Preferred Experience:
Inventory, POS, Club Management, and Tour Booking Systems
