We're looking for some true wine professionals to join us in creating the next SF Bay Area wine destination. Having been in the wine business for 20 years, I'm bringing to life the place I've always wanted to go to drink wine with friends.
Velvet 48 will be a wine bar but NOT a restaurant. The focus will be on providing an amazing level of customer service, selling the greatest wines in the world and having fun doing it. Velvet 48 will also be a wine retailer but NOT a supermarket or liquor store. We will leverage the high end demographic in the northern Silicon Valley to sell the best wines in the world.

WSET, CSW, MS credentials are preferred (intro level minimum). Hospitality experience is a plus. You will need to be able to comfortably converse with wine novices and experts alike. I'm looking for wine people, not servers, although service will be a key distinguishing component of Velvet 48. You will be responsible for educating customers about wine and wine regions and will have the opportunity to conduct tastings of your own design.
This will be a very team driven environment where egos will be checked at the door and everyone will pitch in to ensure the success of everybody.
