Family owned and operated for 38 years, Napa Valley’s Rombauer Vineyards seeks a dedicated and skilled Cellar Worker for its Napa facility. The Cellar Worker’s primary role is to perform cellar, barrel and harvest activities in the winery as directed.
Operating pumps and filters to transfer, rack, filter and blend wines as directed
Operating crusher and presses, moving hoses and equipment, obtaining lab samples and handling the shipping and receiving of tanker trucks
Sanitizing all equipment and areas of cellar operation
Barrel work such as cleaning, gassing, emptying, filling and topping
Proper use and handling of winery additives and chemicals
Seasonal and special projects such as bottling
Safely driving and operating forklifts and scissor lifts
Assisting in ensuring maintenance of wine quality
Following established safety regulations
Required Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Demonstrated ability with accuracy and attention to detail
Knowledge of standard cellar equipment and operating procedures
Basic math and measurement skills
Effective written and oral communication skills
Good attitude and a willingness to precisely follow instructions and learn new processes
Preferred Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
High School Diploma or GED
2 years’ winery cellar experience
This position requires regular standing and walking. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. In addition, the employee is required to spend considerable time in confined or cramped spaces.
