Medallion Global, an importer and distributor of French and Italian wines located in Houston , is seeking our first full time Sales Person in Dallas.
Applicants must currently be working a wholesale wine sales route in the Dallas area which includes on premise accounts or have done so in the last 2 years to be considered for this position. The accounts for this position will be primarily on premise and so you should have good connections in that market sector. You should be comfortable "hand selling" lesser known wines. If your experience is only selling big name brands to grocery stores this will not be the position for you.
Knowledge of French and Italian wines is a plus but more important is that you have excellent sales skills and are highly self-motivated. Sales people are born with an instinct to want to sell, they see it as a game or competition and enjoy chasing after clients and “closing the deal”. That’s the sort of person we want. You can not be timid or shy or afraid of rejection.
It is also extremely important that our salespeople have a “roll with the punches” attitude and are able to function in an environment that is changing all the time. Since this position is exterior to our main office in Houston, it is very important that applicants be able to work "on their own" and not feel abandoned if they do not have constant contact with other staff members. You must be a self starter.
Candidates must be able to lift 50lbs multiple times on a daily basis.
Candidates must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug test. Please do not waste our time or yours if either of those conditions would pose a challenge for you.
The compensation package includes a base plus commission, health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, and mileage reimbursement.
