Wine Communications Group is a wine trade media company that provides a number of products and services targeted to the wine industry.
These include Wine Business Monthly Magazine, Winejobs.com, Winebusiness.com, Daily News Email, Grapes & Bulk Wine classifieds, and eight annual conferences.
The main focus of this entry-level position is customer service. The candidate must be able to provide a high level of timely, professional, and friendly customer service in a small office environment. This position will be responsible for answering incoming calls, resolving callers' issues, opening mail, and general office duties. The position will also offer support to the Editorial Department. Some travel for events will be required throughout the year. This position works closely with the office manager and president, as well as other departments and individuals within the company (Editorial, Sales, Circulation, Events and Production). This could be an ideal position for a recent graduate of a wine business, enology, or viticulture program or journalism. This is an hourly non-exempt position.
Answering phones, directing calls to other associates or addressing the concern
Responding to general office inquiries via phone and email
Answering magazine subscriber questions including address changes, sending replacement magazines, updating addresses, etc.
Working in event and database software programs
Receiving, sorting, and forwarding mail
Entering checks and closing invoices
Provide back-up support for events
Updating social media and blog
Various clerical duties such as photocopying, faxing, and filing
Various projects as determined by President and Office Manager
Upload press releases to winebusiness.com using company’s content management systems.
Daily check of various industry blogs and link to each.
Find appropriate news stories and enter them into the Contact Management System.
Manage events calendar – entering company-created events, approval of submitted events, ensure all events are included.
Post to various social media channels with photos, links, etc. in accordance with editorial mission and voice.
Other projects assigned as needed.
