Marketing Manager

Job Description:

As a member of the marketing team this position plans, organizes and executes marketing and public relations initiatives for strategic initiatives to achieve St. Supéry’s growth and profit objectives. This role is responsible for development of brand positioning to support our brand pillars, executing initiatives across all channels and measuring effectiveness. Packaging management is an important part of this role, as well.

Wholesale and Brand Support: 50%
•  Partner with Director of Marketing to develop long-term and annual business plan and marketing programming. Develop and define projects and manage through completion.
•  Monitor progress through monthly reporting to management. Analyze business and provide recommendations as to what is driving performance.
•  Coordinate with National Sales team and other internal departments to ensure execution of plan.
•  Attend and participate in market visits.
•  Brand presentation: create sales and distribution presentations and templates for National and international sales with review and input from the Director of Marketing, CEO and VP National Sales.
•  Packaging: Manage label suppliers, attend press checks, and coordinate label design changes/revisions. Write and edit back label copy, tasting notes, marketing materials, creative briefs website copy.
•  Responsible for monitoring and identifying website updates.
•  Lead creative development and execution of consumer/trade materials including POS programs, tracking and reporting.

Communications and Press Relations 30%
•  Monitor for consistency of information in all media
•  Develop, execute and collaborate with Director of Marketing & Member Services
and agency for annual PR programming to support key product strategies and brand objectives.
•  Analyze effectiveness of media and advertising programs while managing to budget.
•  Monitor for consistency of information in all media
•  Work with Winemaker, CEO and Marketing Coordinator for wine submissions to wine media. Maintains an up to date roster of key wine critics and publications and manages the process of submitting wines and corresponding technical information in accordance with the each critic’s/publication’s due dates.
•  Write communications to media (e.g. samples letter and press mailings).
•  Write copy for website and promotional descriptions (about St. Supéry) for partner websites.
•  Write promotional copy for winery emails, letters and newsletters (to trade, media and consumers).
•  Create pitches for media.
•  Responsible for maintaining and expanding press database. Seek new media contacts and sources to promote St. Supéry to outside of the standard relationships.
•  Track all reviews and communicate news to sales and marketing team and other relevant parties
•  Primary lead for creating media and trade promotions for Grand Opening, Art Shows and other events (with input from team).
•  Contribute to marketing and promotions calendar for the marketing team, pulling information from all areas: distribution, wine club and visitor center.
•  In coordination with the Director of Marketing & Member Services, CEO, and Marketing Coordinator organize and respond to donation requests in a manner consistent with company policy.

Social Media 20%
•  Work with Director of Marketing & Member Services and agency for development of digital programming and strategic influencer programming to maintain and build social channels
•  Responsible for content management and aggregation to support agency and winery initiatives
•  Write, seek input for St. Supéry chronicles
•  Responsible for reporting performance of social media campaigns and presence

•  EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing, public relations or equivalent
•  Ideal candidate will have a strong business acumen with 5 years experience in a Marketing role in the wine industry.
•  Proven ability to collaborate effectively with all departments for results
•  Familiar with wine packaging compliance
•  Ability to effectively present information to and respond to questions from visitors, clients, the general public, managers, vendors, and co-workers.
•  Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and communication skills
•  Must have a valid driver’s license
•  Must be detail-oriented, efficient, and very organized
•  Must be able to lift 40lbs.
•  Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (especially Excel, Word, and Outlook)
•  Innovative thinker, resourceful learner, able to find solutions in fast-moving industry

•  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly sitting, listening, requiring the use of hands to finger, and operating a keyboard on a computer, frequently talking and exchanging ideas with individuals. Is required to occasionally stand, walk, handle, or feel objects.
•  The employee will regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
