Vintage Wine Estates is a collection of vintner family-owned winery estates and brands based in Santa Rosa, California. We are an industry leader across all sales channels and dedicated to providing wine consumers with a range of wine selections from $10 to $100 dollars. Vintage Wine Estates is a dynamic, growing organization seeking a Senior Human Resources Generalist to join our team. The Human Resources Director is responsible for managing all aspects of the human resources department including all payroll activities and for creating, maintaining and implementing Company policies and procedures. The position is responsible for workforce planning, recruitment and retention, compensation philosophy, benefit program administration, performance management, employee relations, training and development and health and safety programs. This position ensures that the Company is in compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws. The HRD maintains an open-door policy and ensures effective communication throughout the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•  Maintains current knowledge and understanding of regulations, industry trends, new developments and applicable laws regarding human resources
•  Partners with employees and management to communicate and consistently apply various human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards and other government regulations
•  Leads the HR team and ensures that productivity and quality expectations are met; sets department strategy to accomplish quarterly and annual goals
•  Works with executive team to define staffing, compensation and benefit plans
•  Leads and executes the annual employee appraisal and compensation review
•  Coaches managers with regard to performance management, discipline and performance improvement plans
•  Provides guidance to managers in the use and application of market salary information; participates in industry salary surveys
•  Works with executive team regarding the structure of employee benefit programs including health insurance, bonus programs and wage and salary guidelines for both VWE and Kunde
•  Partners with the CFO and President with regard to reviewing the VWE and Kunde 401(k) Savings Plan
•  Oversees workers’ compensation programs, working closely with broker and carrier to monitor claims and perform on-going analysis
•  Ensures that all staffing requests are within budget or approved by the President
•  Works to maintain continuity and a sense of “family” amongst the different tasting rooms, production facilities and home offices of VWE
•  Updates and maintains the employee handbook, consulting with senior leadership on the establishment and maintenance of policies and procedures.
•  Researches and recommends new personnel programs and processes
•  Advises management when necessary to retain the services of an employment attorney
•  Prepares government reports related to EEO compliance or other HR functions
•  Serves as a member of the acquisition team ensuring a smooth transition for those involved

REQUIREMENTS:
•  Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, business or a related field; Master’s degree preferred
•  Eight to 10+ years in a leadership role with an HR Department
•  HR Certification by HRCI or SHRM is highly desired
•  Considerable knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to HR
•  Demonstrated solid leadership skills
•  Knowledge of health insurance programs and broker interactions
•  Knowledge of compensation systems and practices
•  Professional business acumen and demonstrated sound judgement
•  Strong organizational and excellent interpersonal skills
•  Handles confidential information, is trustworthy and approachable
•  Ability to manage time sensitive assignments & meet deadlines while maintaining acute attention to detail
•  Highly skilled in relationship management
•  Persistence and ability to maintain a positive outlook
•  Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Office, and Excel

•  Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously
