Looking for an exceptional candidate to join our team in the role of Assistant Retail Operations Manager at Silverado Vineyards. This candidate must possess the ability to lead by example at all times by embodying the true hospitality spirit and professionalism. This candidate is well spoken, polished, hard-working and works well with all personalities.
Working closely with the management team, the Assistant Retail Operations Manager oversees the day-to-day operations in the tasting room, while modeling superior customer service and unquestionable business integrity.
He/She will be a key contributor in the development of sales and hospitality programs at the winery. This candidate will directly supervise the tasting room staff and tasting room in the manager’s absence and oversees key operational tasks. He/She will also work with management to help train, motivate and uphold the company culture and values. Proven managerial experience and skills are required. Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills are essential maintaining an ethical and professional demeanor.
Skills: Natural customer service leader with proven ability to motivate, train and develop others. Excellent organizational skills, combined with the ability to coordinate multiple resources and activities while still maintaining an excellent attention to detail. Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to be self-motivated and work independently to achieve departmental goals.
Specific responsibilities include:
1. Manage merchandise products including ordering, merchandising, inventory control and pricing.
2. Management of staff time card processes to include submission into time management software. ADP knowledge desirable.

Two years’ experience managing specialty hospitality or location with an emphasis on sales, preferably in a tourist/retail environment. College degree or its equivalent, preferably in the area of business or hospitality management. A demonstrated ability to fiscally manage the assets of a comparable business including operations, expenses, visual presentation, inventory integrity, and team success.
Foreign language skills, advanced PC skills, WISE Academy Certification or other hospitality/wine certifications highly desirable.
WineDirect, ADP and Microsoft Office aptitude desirable.
Must be able to work weekends. Team player with a can-do attitude and ability to work on feet for at least four hours, lift and carry a case of wine (50 lbs).
Must be at least 21 years of age; possess a valid CA Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record.
