Job Description:

Voted one of the North Bay Business Journal’s Best Places to Work in 2017, Jackson Family Enterprises is a family owned company based in Santa Rosa, California that oversees all the wine production and marketing for the Jackson Family, including such well-known wine brands as Kendall-Jackson, La Crema, Murphy-Goode, Matanzas Creek, Cardinale, Stonestreet, Verite, Arrowood, Freemark Abbey, Cambria and Byron. The family owns thousands of acres of prime vineyard land in California and Oregon, as well as wineries and vineyards in Australia, Chile, France, Italy and South Africa. The family also owns numerous other wine industry businesses, including a barrel maker, and distribution companies.


Responsible for the coordination and delivery of Information Technology projects. Oversees all aspects of projects assigned. Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, monitors activities and summarizes progress of project. The Project Manager will prepare reports for upper management regarding status of projects. Must be familiar with a wide variety of business processes, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Must be capable of performing a variety of tasks within the project scope. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Major Areas of Responsibility:

Evaluate project goals into scope, objective, approach and plan
Ensure alignment between project objective, project sponsor and ultimately the project as delivered
Communicate project method and lead project resources to achieve the project goal within project constraints, (scope, resources (people & capital), time)
Monitor progress against plan, flag exceptions or risks and prepare corrective actions in response to project limiting events
Accountable for managing project budgets and variance to budget reporting to IT Management
Responsible for administering supplier contracts related to the project
Prepare scope documents and contracts (in coordination with consultants, technical personnel, and vendors) to acquire services and products for projects
Research information technology and applications industry to stay current with business solution options as they relate to Jackson Family Enterprise projects
Prepare project cost benefit analysis to assist establishing Project Management and IT Department priorities
Assist with the development of IT Department Capital budgets
Supervise project resources as assigned to projects
Other duties as assigned


Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) from a four-year college or university, or the equivalent of education and experience.
4 to 7 years of experience in relevant project management responsibilities
Experienced in managing IT Operations, Infrastructure, Desktop and Telecom Projects
Working knowledge of networking, server, Windows, and Office 365
Capacity to solve problems and make decisions in a clear and decisive manner

PMP certification strongly preferred
Experience with Waterfall, Scrum, and Agile project methodology
In-depth understanding in the areas of data analysis, application integration, software testing, systems analysis and design, systems development, troubleshooting and problem solving on problems of diverse scope and complexity
Excellent business communication, writing and interpersonal skills
Orientation toward results and high quality
Capacity to solve problems and make decisions in a clear and decisive manner
Willingness to be a member of a high performing team
Experience in deploying or upgrading business applications
Experience in Business Intelligence related projects
Excellent planning and organization skills
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Skilled in using the following programs - Workfront, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office 365
Understanding of JDE ERP system
Wine industry knowledge
